Hello All, Following a service (including Bosch sparkplugs) early this year, my car developed a stutter/ hesitate during acceleration, as I drive slowly it wasnt a big issue but still an annoyance. I checked all pipes, plugs etc everything ok. Then I remembered that many moons ago I had the same issue after putting Bosch sparkplugs in an RS1600i Escort. Based on this I decided to reinstall an old set of NGK plugs, this tranformed the car to the way it was before with no stutter/ hesitation. I hope this helps someone

I remember putting some fancy NGK Iridium (maybe) plugs in my 406. It ran like cack.
I cleaned them up, took them back and swapped them for the bog standard NGKs, ran perfectly after that.
All I can assume is they either ran too hot (despite being labelled as for the 1800 engine) or they had "too strong" a spark maybe and the ECU got a bit flummoxed.

Both instances of the issue that I had were both using Iridium.

NGK recommends the Platinum plugs (NGK 91530) for the RCZ 1.6 156HP at least, just put them in our car. For the 200 and 270 they recommend Iridium but what I can find there is no difference in the specs so not sure if it should drive any different.

What's the standard Peugeot plug, is that NGK as well?

The amount of heat the plugs can absorb is the difference cheap plugs will burn out quicker

Your still not making any sense what name of plugs are you using in your car ? All spark plugs have branded names but more importantly they are graded for their compatibility to certain engine types to give an example fitting the WRONG plugs will lead to them overheating & practically destroy the coil packs over a short period of time so could you enlighten us all on this forum?

if nothing has changed (because they have passed some years since i was checking these) these are the spark plugs that peugeot uses
NGK ILZKBR7A8G for thp 200
NGK PLZKBR7AG for thp 156
they are good enough even for my setup
my opinion is that you don't have to look elsewhere just go to a dealer and buy them
until recently they where also very cheap but not any more
