I was driving home tonight an I noticed a smell of petrol when waiting in traffic, I’ve had this happen before so I had a good idea what the problem was .
it was not 1 but 3 spark plugs had come loose enough to let petrol Vapour escape
The plugs were torqued up so can anybody shed some light on this .

Once you feel them tightening up stop & turn the ratchet by 1/2 to 3/4s of a turn then go to next plug never overtighten them in a alloy head!
I have never ever used a torque wrench in over 40yrs of fixing cars but I do know a bloke who did on his ford Mondeo Z Tec engine & it cost him £600 after he snapped the plugs off & blamed Fords recommendations about tightening torques !😆
