Does anybody else think that we are getting a lot more spam on the forum since the upgrade? It now seems pretty relentless :thumbdown:

Why doesn't Upgrade mean Upgrade? Ie BETTER ?

We're working on it. Hopefully we will get it resolved very soon. It's these bots that keep disrupting our threads although it only seems to be those that are Global Announcement threads. Full service will resume shortly, as they say

Please just bear with it folks, as RCZ1 says we are hopeful of finding a solution soon but rest assured we are closing down these threads as soon as they are identified either by ourselves or other vigilant members. I can also second the fact that it's driving us a little up the wall... :crazy:

Well at least two of our Mods are more than aware of this growing problem. With some luck we may see a reduction in the volume of unwanted posts in the forthcoming months. It just seems to me to have gotten so much worse since the so called UPGRADE :thumbdown:

The spam does annoy me too, but so does the "Tappatalk" pop-up that I keep getting every time I log in and then when I go to a different thread.

I dont want to download this Tappatalk thing so is there a way I can stop or turn off this pop-up.

Like Ron says all these annoying this are since the site upgrade. :evil:

Tapatalk is a very good way of viewing Forums. I much prefer it to the conventional way. I'm afraid there is no way to turn it off. All Forums that have Tapatalk, do the same. That isn't Spam by the way.

I noticed a few more last night!
Wonder if there are any more sercurity options or if some could make one, like select the picture and have inconspicuous cars? Maybe they won't go to the effort if it is, saying this I've noticed in the last few years people will do anything for money! These guys are proberly paid a pound/dollar for each time some clicks on the link!!
So for now all we can do be patient and let the mods keep up the good work!

I fear that the real solution is out of the hands of our mods. This is down to poor web design, surely :twisted:

I feel as though I am missing out on one of the annoying features of the upgrade. I have never seen this "Tappatalk" thing maybe because I only ever log into the sight via my home laptop

You're telling me!!! I rarely actually get to post anything these days because in the snatched moments I get to log in to the forum, I spend all my time deleting their bl**dy posts!! Still...we are vigilantly trying our best to shoot them down as soon as they appear where possible. We will continue trying to find a more long term solution to this!!

Closing the stable door would help. We had a better system before. What can be difficult about stopping them becoming a member ? Other organisations have safety features to prevent automated traffic :crazy:
