So my car was at the main stealers today having a camshaft sensor replaced under warranty (for the second time in 4 months by the way and they claim this event has never been witnessed before, but I digress) and they also did a software update at the same time which apparently is a new recall.

Not noticed much difference on the menus except there is now an option to unlock all doors or just the drivers door via the fob. Is that new? :?: I'm sure I've not noticed it before but maybe I'm wrong... Please somebody tell me!

Also, now the spoiler is stuck on stage 2 and won't retract via the button so I guess it's back to them to sort it out tomorrow. Unless anyone has a solution? I already tried a brisk jaunt down the dual carriageway to see if that would encourage it to do it's thing automatically but, alas, nope...

I can't honestly say I've ever noticed if there is an option for which doors can be opened, but I do have a feeling that somewhere in the recesses of my squidgy mind, I might have seen it somewhere :eusa-think: I will check tomorrow if I get chance.

Spoiler, probably best to just let the overpaid boffins stick their screwdrivers in places we mere mortals don't know exist, or you could try the fiddly BSI reset that doesn't seem to actually fix anything much. :eusa-whistle:

Cool, thanks. I'll let them sort it then since it looks like the software 'update' removed functionality rather than added any!

They possibly removed the battery and the spoiler lost memory of its position and defaulted to its failsafe one. I'd suggest another drive making sure you go above 50mph and trying to cycle it using the button. Speaking of which, is it illuminated properly?

I went *ahem* quiet a bit over 50 to test that theory but no luck. The button is not illuminated but when I press it you can hear the motor trying to move the spoiler...

So I've got the car back again now and they've fixed the spoiler. Sort of...

It's working again now after they fiddled out with it but they couldn't explain why it malfunctioned in the first place so they've ordered a new motor assembly and that's going in next week.

It's £1000 for that part in case you're ever in the same unfortunate position so glad the warranty is still good until the end of the month!
