Just recently I found out about the Brownstone Limited Edition RCZ and it sparked a discussion with a fellow enthusiast.

Check link; do it in google chrome and then translate page for English.

http://www.motorbox.com/auto/magazine/a ... brownstone

Well I thought I knew quite a bit about our beloved RCZ, turns out there's always something to learn as with anything I guess !

So, we have the Limited Edition Brownstone with 150 units sold in the EU. I actually saw one of these at the European Meeting in Zeeland, but didn't realise what it was !

Which brings me to what I think is probably going to be one of the rarest RCZ's **

** except obviously Bimota and Arlen Ness concepts...

The RCZ Black Yearling !!!

How would one go about finding the production number for a limited edition model, i.e: #73 of 200?

Guppy most Limited Editions do have the build number somewhere, Neil will correct me here but for the Launch Edition it was on the bottom of the roof arch ie 125/200.
And with the Raidillion as you can see from the above posts.... it was stamped on the gear knob...

This is the info on the Launch Edition which celebrates Peugeot's 200th year in industry...

Peugeot has unveiled a special edition version of its RCZ at the Frankfurt motor show.

The exclusive model will be available to the first 200 customers who buy a Peugeot RCZ. The car is significant as it will be launched in the same year Peugeot celebrates its 200th year as an industrial brand.

See the high-res Peugeot RCZ picture gallery

Power comes from a 154bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine, which it shares with the Mini Roadster concept. It is mated to a six-speed manual ‘box.

It rides on matte black 19-inch alloy wheels, which sit in chrome wheel arches. The 200 models come in pearlescent white and its double bubble roof comes in carbonfibre.

Inside, it gets a Nappan black leather heated seats and equipment includes bi-xenon headlights and rear parking sensors.

It will cost from 35,500 euro (£31,585) when it goes on sale next year.

Many thanks for your reply.

Tried looking in the most obvious places, but still no number :(

Will try under the bonnet tomorrow

Cheers

Hi Guppy, I don’t think the red carbon was classed as a limited edition as such I don’t think it had a designated number stamped anywhere. :eusa-think:
What does it state on your logbook as to the model?

Hi neilgxsr69,

Peugeot RCZ Red Carbon is the full model description on the logbook. It was limited to 300 models world wide.

Would be great to know my production number?

Cheers

Yeh like I said I’m sure they weren’t numbered like the launch edition was  when really they should have been! But as I’ve found out It’s not something Peugeot feel is too important. The supplying dealer of my Launch Edition, (not sure how they got it because it was only supposed to be an online sale to the first 200 customers who had to stump up €35,500 there and then and the car wasn’t even built! They sold all 200 in 5 minuets with only 36 UK buyers getting one)
Well they decided in their wisdom to paint the arches which are etched with the limited edition number in gloss black covering up the number in the process! The dealer didn’t make any note of the number which you would have thought would be in the owners book but it’s not. So I contacted Peugeot UK and Peugeot France and even Magna Steyr all to no avail no record was made of which ltd edition number went to which chassis number
So you’ll just have to be happy in the knowledge that you have a pretty rare model Z.

Has anyone got a vin number from a launch edition as I can see if the arches are a different part number or have another part that other RCZ's do not have.
