In South Africa we have a relatively small French car following. The guys that do own French cars are very passionate about their rides and go out of their way to look after their cars. At a recent event I introduced myself and the Mrs and we were told we were the first RCZ owners in the club. These guys go out of their way to look after their cars. Best driving practice, best fuel, best maintenance parts, best cleaning products and this from guys driving 206's and 207's.

I cant believe that the UK RCZ community is so the opposite. Counting pennies and cutting corner at every conceivable corner. Dismissing best driving\startup\cooldown practices as old wives tales to save i presume 2 mins of their lives. How dare the car inconvenience me, the almighty human. People buy entry level RCZ's and complain about spec or performance. Throw in cheap fuel and then blame the car for uneven idle, poor performance and unreliability. Its as if there is no respect for the RCZ from some guys on here. Spec the car with 16inch wheels and tires and then complain about understeer or poor turn in... etc. etc. etc.

There are the few oddballs who go out of their way to ensure only the best treatment is provided for their rides but those owners are few and far between. To the rest of the guys the RCZ is just a car......

Its just my observation so discuss\agree\disagree\ignore... :greetings-wavingblue:

Not sure about other peugeot model drivers but I am sure everyone on here with an rcz are the same as the guys that you described.

Scrimp and scrape ? I spent a fortune on cleaning mine and still haven't got everything I want for Stripe. I even just fitted a security light with camera (I call it my baby monitor).

So not sure where you get your ideas from.

Sorry to disagree with you Max... but yes you did. THE RCZ community is a very broad brush and I feel that your comments are only applicable to SOME of RCZ community. The forum does not represent the majority of the RCZ owners either.

When you say community do you mean those that are part of this forum or the UK RCZ owners as a whole? I can't say I've seen that much evidence of scrimping on this forum.

Sorry, don't know why I'm apologising, but I've used supermarket fuel for years without a problem. My mpg is better than most other RCZ owners on here so please tell me how I'm doing harm to my car.

I've rather taken offence at some of the comments quoted on this thread. If you want to use better fuel do so, but don't deride me for my choices. I'll decide if I want to use more expensive, so called better fuel. As I've said before, my OH has had problems with using the "better" fuel and had to have his tank completely drained, on more than one occasion, so tell me, where's the benefit there?

I say it as i see it. This is not a personal attack on anyone, this is me probing to see what you really feel about your car and the way you think about it. Very early on I have realised there are only a very few hardcore car nuts on here. Yes my wife drives our RCZ as a daily so its not your average boy racer crowd that owns these cars but still, i was shocked by some comments and attitudes on here. Again nothing personal.

@ RCZ1, glad you happy driving cheap fuel! Sorry that you took offence about some comments. Like i said, was not aimed at a person.

@ Regulars, by now you should know me, i say things the way I see it, i dont beat around the bush. If i think you are being a dumb@ss i will tell you.

@Jassy, i've noticed you do like a good debate, even a good old controversial one! Kinda like me in that respect. If you think im an a-hole about cars, wait till we get to politics or religion LOL!

Could you please provide a definition of what, in your eyes, constitutes a "hardcore car nut"?
