Screen Repair Polish

Has anyone used a screen scratch repair polish.

My car is parked on the drive and I think the heavy rain we have had lately has washed some grit from the house roof tiles onto the screen, causing it to drag over the screen when the wipers were put on.

I've just noticed a small scratch on my screen where the wiper blades seem to have dragged a bit of grit under the rubber.
On inspection of the wipers theres very fine grit caught in the folds of the rubber.

I've heard you can polish out fine scratches on the screen but I do not want to make things worse.

Theres plenty of products on the market, but do they work and are they safe to use on the screen. :eusa-think:

Jactac my old buddy :thumbup: i have the same problem caused in the same way, debri of the house roof captured under the wiper blade,it has scratched the upper part of the passengers side of my windscreen so it would be of great interest to me as well if there a fix for this but i doubt it, as i have read these products erase the scratch but leave a cloudy like result :eusa-think:

I'm worried I will do more harm than good if I try it myself, and to be honest its not that noticeable really :eusa-think:

Apparantly you have to be careful not to cause "lensing", what ever that is :?

Compounding the glass is like compounding paint. It removes scratches but doesn't add any shine (hence the cloudiness that Jassy mentioned) hence the reason you then have to go over the same area with a polish to restore the shine. Therefore something like Gechniq's G4 glass polish would be a good idea.
It might be worth trying G4 first if you are not happy with using the kit.
