DKZ5745 do you still get the navigation info in the centre of the dashboard after the update as people were reporting on GPSUnderground that this was not working after the upgrade on some of the downloaded firmwares but they were not talking specifically RCZ.

Cheers

I am currently taking part in a group purchase of the forthcoming 2015 Map Update for the RT6 on GPSUnderground.

The maps should be available at the end of April or beginning of May.

Once I have them and can confirm they are working OK I will try to post a link to enable the download to USB stick. I believe the update will also contain the latest speed camera updates etc.

Does anyone happen to know the part number for version 2.86 please?

Try APV 9691894880

So... Spoke with Swansway, Chester parts department and they arent prepared to sell me the update as its not the registered update for my car in case it it currupts the firmware  They instead quoted me £8 for the old 2.75 version - which I had previously purchased off them.

Does anyone know where else I can get the update disc from please? I dont have a PC or Laptop to burn it to disc or USB.

What system do you have fitted in your car ? Is it the RT6 ? If so, I can't understand why they are telling you it is not the correct firmware for your car, as members on here are reporting dealerships updating systems to this latest version, and many members have updated their own systems with no reported problems.

I have 2.85 on CD but not the 2.86 as this wasn't an ISO file, so I had to temporarily put this on a USB stick to install, which I have since deleted.
If you PM me your address I can send you the 2.85 CD I created, but I would be pursuing your dealership for the latest version.

I believe the version being installed at dealerships is RNEG2.86.A.5 rather than the 2.86.B.1 on the GPSUnderground site.

I wonder if the part number quoted is for the B.1 version, and your dealership is telling you that's not the correct version because it should be the part number for the A.5 version you need.

Maybe if you ask them if they could supply you with the latest firmware version RNEG2.86.A.5 which I understand new cars are being supplied with, they may be able to help.

Perhaps. I will give them another call tomorrow to do some further digging. My system is the RT6 with RNEG2.75, it has 7 digit post code which I find odd based on others experience.

Many thanks for your offer, I may take you up on it tomorrow.

I'm guessing we don't have the part number for RNEG2.86.A.5 yet?

I'm just making an assumption that the part number I quoted was for the B.1 version, although I'm pretty sure that it is. I got it from a French website which was referring to the GPSU site. I haven't been able to unearth a part number for the A.5 version.

I can't believe that a Pug dealer can't offer the latest update for the RT6 firmware :eusa-think:

Belated and grateful thanks to tianorth for mailing me through an update disk, which all loaded up perfectly. Now I can navigate using the full postcode addresses.

Managed to obtain the file for the latest firmware upgrade to 2.86

It can be found here http://www7.zippyshare.com/v/17yQCpzj/file.html

Nice to see this worked for you, I am tempted with it too- but will it prompt for an activation key or anything?
I Currently have RNEG2.75.C.5
And is this alone, enough to give the 7 digit post code option or will that require map updates etc additionally?

You will need to download MiraScript from gpsunderground (you may need to search their site for a link) once you have used this program as per the instructions on their website, this will enable you to install any updates without the need for any activation codes.
As for the 7 digit postcodes, you will need to update the maps first I'm afraid. These are also available on gpsunderground. I downloaded the maps and MiraScript from their site, I am no Computer genius, but just followed all the instructions, and everything worked perfectly.
I have just installed the latest firmware from their site (2.86) and Tianorth sent me a zip file with the latest risk areas(speed cameras).

I really didn't like the built in sat nav when I got the car, but now it's all updated, it's brilliant.

Good luck with your efforts, and there are always people on here who can offer advice if you get stuck :helpme:
