Sat Nav / CD fault

Hi all , I'm a new member and just purchased an RCZ and
just wondered if anyone could help me.
When I press the nav button I get a message saying navigation system loading but it never does, also when the nav doesn't load the cd won't work either. The only way I can get it to work is to factory reset but that doesn't work every time. I went to Peugeot today and the technician pressed the button and it worked, can't believe it, when I tried it later it wouldn't work again
Any ideas please

If it happens again video it to prove it's not working.
Which system do you have?
Which year car?

Hi
I've done s video but it won't load onto site, the system is an NG4 3D in a 2010 model.
I will try and put it on you tube with a link later

You could try updating the firmware and/or maps. Sorry, I can't help you there, it's a different system to mine, but if you search GPSUnderground.com, I would think there would be a download link somewhere in the Peugeot Citroen forum if you do a search.
It sounds like a software fault, so perhaps that might sort it. Worse case scenario is that it doesn't help and you have to get the dealer to fix it, but it sounds like your possibly heading that way in any case so no real harm done.

Sorry I can't help with the NG4 system but someone on here should be able to tell you what the latest firmware version is and how to find it on yours.
Doing a firmware update may resolve your issue.

Great post DKZ5745 how easy is it to download these updates? I don't think my NG4 has ever been updated do I need to download all the updates and install them one at a time or download and install the latest one only? :eusa-think:

I don't have the NG4 system but my understanding is you can go straight for the latest version, BUT I strongly suggest reading through the threads on that website, as I'm pretty sure that question will have been asked, and answered by someone who has already done the updates.

It is very easy to download the updates via s PC. It is then just a case of putting the correct files on USB stick. When you insert this in your car I would think it will auto detect, I know the RT6 unit I have usually does, if not, it's s case of going to the map management screen and following the instructions from there.

Again, if you read through the threads on the website mentioned, there are probably detailed instructions.

Sorry if I'm a bit vague, but I have never even seen an NG4 unit, let alone updated one.

Hope you manage the updates OK. I would suggest the firmware first, then maps & speedcams.

Sorry, that was my best guess, it looks like a dealership repair, unless someone on here with the same system has encountered the same fault and can help.

Have you attempted to install the latest maps? It might be the files you have are corrupt in some way, and installing the latest ones will clear the fault?

Yes the screen opens every time
It is strange that the media centre won't open unless the nav is loaded or vise versa. I've tried the software update and that's not worked and every audio specialist won't touch it so if anyone could help me please

Hello guys,

I am new at this forum so apologise for my lack of experience here.

I have a RCZ HDI from 2010, and have those exact problems with my car. Sat Nav / CD Player don t work and the message Loading Please wait keeps showing instead of the navigation menu.

Did you have solution for this problem as i do not know how to solve this either?

Cheers.

I think I have read on here somewhere that the iphone has to connect through the AUX port in the glovebox (for music).

Sorry but I have the RT6 version someone will let be known if the above statement is correct.
