So, decided to invest in a nice new telly to watch all the Christmas repeats on :eusa-think:

Did some research, and heard good things from those who are supposed to know what they are talking about, on the latest Samsung 4K 3D SUHD 55" Smart Curved TV with nano pixel technology, and so this was the one we decided on.

About the only downside I heard was that the sound quality could be better, but then that was from a salesman that was trying to sell me a £750 curved soundbar to match the telly.
In actual fact, the television has its own built in subwoofer, and the sound quality is the best I've had from flat screen tv's.

The picture quality however, is something else. It's hard to explain just how good the quality is, although there are so many parameters available to adjust, it can be a bit of a task to get it just how you want it. The best thing is, you can save several finished results as, "standard" "dynamic" "cinema" etc etc, so you can always jump from one setting to another at the press of a single button.

The 3D is outstanding, it's just like being at an imax 3D cinema. The 3D glasses however, are not included with the TV, so you have to buy them extra, and as they are "active" glasses, they are more expensive than the "passive" 3D system, but I believe offer much better results. Another option I wasn't aware of until after purchase, is that you have a setting that turns everything into 3D, even normal broadcasts or Blue Ray's/DVDs. It has to be said though that the 3D results on this setting are nowhere near as good as the actual 3D movies/TV broadcasts. (We use a PS4 to play 3D Blue Ray's).

The TV has built in WIFI, and connects easily to the Internet, although we have used an Ethernet cable as its positioned near our router. It even does an internal virus check on start up if so required.

The TV is also Blue Tooth enabled allowing easy connection to soundbar etc, and can be connected to your mobile to allow streaming of music/videos directly to the big screen.

It comes with two remotes, standard, and smart, and both are quite intuitive, and easy to get to grips with. The smart remote has the microphone built in which is where you speak to use voice control over the TV.
A seperate camera can be purchased which attaches discretely to the top of the TV. This enables gesture control (like the new BMW 7 series) and even face recognition. We haven't opted for the camera, as this TV is so feature packed already, I doubt we would really get any benefit from one.

I have fitted led backlights for mood lighting, which can be adjusted to any colour desired, and dimmed down or turned off altogether via the supplied remote. (<£10 via Fleabay).

The TV is certainly not cheap, with prices varying from £1699 to £2299, depending on retailer. We went to John Lewis as they are offering a price match, and offer a free 5 year warranty - essential when spending this kind of money on cutting edge technology that has no proven longevity.
The 3D glasses also vary by supplier, @ £16 - £35 for a pack of two pairs.

We are absolutely amazed by the quality of this TV, so thought we should share this, in case anyone else was thinking of upgrading their TV anytime soon.

Soooo looking forward to watching the first Grand Prix on this TV this afternoon, hopefully it will be just like being in Brazil

That looks good man! :D

When i buy my next TV a must-have is going to be more or less what you have here :) Technology moves so fast you're better off buying something decent like this, otherwise it's outdated a few months after you buy it. With all the 4K and 3D stuff this thing has it'll stick around for a pretty long time!
