Meant to ask, What did you treat the arches with ?

Personally, I'd be trying to get that debadged as I really don't like it but that's not taking away from stunning Ruby, RCZ1 and Ron's hard work and an awesome thread. She really does look fantastic K. Now...where's this pesky leather?! You know we can't wait to see it!!!

I like that Mr Rizz. In fact, the more I look at the new grill, the more I feel it fits the car perfectly.
Ron asked me yesterday which part of the new car I liked best and I said the grill. He likes the black roof arches.

I put some Gtechniq C1.5 sealant on them. They quite surprised me as they don't seem to mark at all. There were some horrible marks on them from something the dealers had used on them and I was a bit worried that the marks would not come off but they did.
They are like vinyl so will cope with most things I think. Should be hard wearing.

Looks amazing...almost like a new car :lol:

After 9 hours of work by 2 people I would most probably park it in my garage and just look at it...too beautiful to drive it on dirty roads...

It's not the roads to be worried about its all the dust flying around in all these strong winds at the moment. Went out today and now it's covered in dust but still shiny . Neighbours were drooling over it today.......

It's not the first time that we have partnered up for a good detailing session. However I was a little taken aback with how easy she appeared to allow me near Ruby. I wonder what she was really thinking, whilst having that confident exterior?

Looking at those results and both your passion's for detailing that's not a bad idea, when you look at the prices detailers charge . I am having mine professionally done and for new car detail it's £250 and that is by no means the most expensive I've looked at over last few weeks.

I am currently looking into buying a electric polisher and have been looking at a silverline variable speed one. I've never used one before and was wondering if this would be suitable for a beginner. Also does this type of polisher take the hexlogic pads that you used when detailing ruby.
I'm only going to be using it with lime prime or the gtechniq p1 polish.
Hope you can give me some advice on this. Many thanks Ian.

Thanks Ian for your kind comments. We certainly enjoyed working on her to get her looking gorgeous

The silverline is a rotary which are more aggressive than a DA which means that I wouldn't recommend one to a beginner, unless you were going to have lessons in how to use it. It's good that it has variable speed but the head doesn't move in the same way that a DA does so generates a lot of heat which is what causes burn throughs on paint. I would suggest you start out with a DA, get a scrap panel to practise on, watch the many good Junkman videos and read Dave KG's tutorial on Detailing World, on how to get the best out of them. Any of the DA's will use the Hexlogic pads. I hope this helps

The Turtlewax tin is at least 30 years old, probably more ! lol
