So, after a bit of confusion on my last post regarding map & alert zone updates for 2016-1, I have managed to sort things out (I think). :helpme:
The previous post has been edited to show just the alert zone updates, as the folder with the maps was too large (3.94Gb) for that server, and only partially uploaded. (apologies to anyone who tried installing). :(

This server has loads of space, so it should now work if you download the files from the following link directly to the root of an empty USB stick (you will need 4Gb available).

Bob it in your Z & follow the instructions that appear.

As previously stated, I have bought these maps, so if anyone starts to have pangs of guilt for getting them for free, just PM me & I'll let you know my PayPal address for any contribution you would like to make. :eusa-think:

All contributions received will go towards the next map update, due around about October I believe. :ugeek:

again, if you do want to contribute, make sure your update has been successful before you do so.

These maps were released on 15.03.16 so are the latest available (data gathered 2015-2). :!:

Enjoy

Any problems just PM me & I'll get on it.

EDIT: Many thanks to Tianorth for pointing out that some people have not deactivated the activation code request. He has supplied the following file for use where this is necessary:-

Many thanks for this article and the others.

Helped me upgrade from 2.75 to 2.86 as well as the alerts and maps. Slightly squeaky bum time doing the upgrade of the firmware as had to do it from CD and it took 40 minutes. Otherwise all good.

PM sent for contribution info

Cheers

Just about to buy a Magnetic with RT^ nav fitted, can you go straight to the current series of maps or must you upgrade incrementally?

You can put the latest maps/alert zones/firmware straight on. No incremental steps required :D

I have the magnetic and to get 7 digit postcode, I had to upgrade the firmware to 2.86 and then update to 2014 or higher maps.

If you need help just ask.
