Hello!

Is it possible to replace in MK2 pop up screen for the monochromatic scren from MK1?
It's just a unit + trim swap, or there is more to be done?

Thanks

Yeh I’m sure it’s not just a straight swap over they’re different units

if you have the parts, just try. Probably you can do so without removing the flip-up screen. just connect the other one. The only wire going to the flip-up screen is a LVDS signal wire. I’m busy adding CarPlay to my car, so I know.

Just wondering, why would you want to replace the more modern full colour HD motorised screen with the older less detailed orange dome shaped bump 🤔

From the moment of manufacture, the wiring and programming of the car is already different with one unit or another, and it is normal that with this change several functions do not work correctly.

Thank you for your responses.

@DKZ5745 I just like more the looks of the first one than the popping screen.I'm still looking for an RCZ in good conditions, I slighlty prefer the MK1 but down here there ain't many options in good conditions, and the prices are ridicoulus (18-30k U$D), so i'd choose an MK2 in good conditions over an MK1 in bad conditions. Already seen an MK1 with adultered km...I' even giving up with choosing the color, going for a repaint and have the door jams on the original color...
