I decided to try Meguiars Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer as my arches had recently been neglected a little due to family issues. I am initially quite impressed with the results. Time will tell how durable it is, but so far so good….

Looks great, always been impressed by Meguires products, use their boat range on our cruiser as well. Is your car a Red Carbon btw ?

Funny you should ask, the answer would be, almost.

We bought the car from Peugeot as a “company car”. It was only a few months old. We found out the user was the guy from Peugeot France who was in charge of developing the Red Carbon model. The Sat Nav showed It had travelled from Peugeot France to Peugeot U.K.

It has everything the Red Carbon has, except the interior Logos. I can only assume it was a prototype Guinea Pig for that limited edition model.

I‘ve had it 8 years now & still love it just as much as the day I got it.

They do look stunning in red, viewed a
64 plate Hdi a few weeks back in a Peugeot garage, red with black arches and wheels. Nearly bought it but pathetic px on my MX5 and something in the my heart says wait for a Red Carbon but still unsure if to get diesel due to it will only be doing a few thousand a year.

If the Meguiars coating comes off or stops working for some reason, try rubbing the faded part with a heavy cut compound. I restored mine doing that and they came up like new. So the idea is to remove the oxidised plastic rather than cover it up. Try it on a small area first to test. Then you could go over it with a coating if needed.

I agree

Im no chemist but i kind of feel most of these polishes are temporary gloss enhancers

More than happy to scrub with compound and put it on for a long term fiz

Try using auto glym bumper and trim. Works for black and chrome arches.

It was only £12. I'm sure I'll be retouching here and there. I am thinking of putting a carbon fibre wrap on the roof. What do you reckon?

I do like the carbon roof look. I decided to keep mine as original as possible with just a few tweaks here & there inside.
If you like the look of it, go for it. I do think they look good.

a week after using meguiars, its a lot lot lot better, but after its dried, even from a meter away it still looks two toned, between the faded vs non faded parts

would another coat help?
