Do i just pull it until it slams the roof?

It's got a little play in it so you can move it up and down 1mm and it's driving me crazy  Need to super-glue it!

I dont think it a case of just pulling on your knob

If all jobs were as easy as that I would be a full time odd job man

To remove this offending knob I think you may need to get to a clip inside the "leather boot" that needs undoing.

You basicaly have to peel up the leather boot, then release the clip then you can pull your knob . :D
(sounds like a scene from a 70's porn shoot)

I've just done the one on my VW Polo, it's a bit fiddly but like I say it starts from inside the leather boot.

Even if you fail to get the job done, think of all the fun you had trying

Sounds awfully complicated..... :(

Would Peugeot do it on warranty? lol  I need to bring it in for the coolant temp sensor anyway so... :D

Having a knob pulled under warranty is asking just a tad too much

Joking aside, if the car is under warranty and the gear knob is coming loose I would definitely pursue it via a warranty claim. :eusa-think:

The simplest way of getting it off is to pull it. Its held on by pressure fit on a plastic spline. just replaced the gear lever boot, as original one has split again! cheap leather look synthetic material, split for second time and under warranty will only replace with the same! pointless! Bought full leather boot, easy to fit and looks the mutts. :D

Has anyone out there changed their gear knob or gaiter/boot themselves? I am about to challenge myself with the task and wondered if anyone has any handy hints? ;)

I have, its easy. Just a bit of brute force. Just make sure your face is nowhere near it ;)

Haha! More worried about the knob than my face! Tried pulling the knob but it doesn't want to budge :D

HUZZAH! All done! Requires brute force of a man!! As a tip for anyone else - to change the gaiter you have to remove the ash tray and unscrew the outside screws to remove the central panel! ;) :p
