Rear badge removal

Hi all,
Can someone tell me how to best remove the rear lion emblem from the boot please? Noticed yesterday that the top of the tail was missing. God knows how? Probably an over eager jet wash. I now need to replace it if I can find one the right size.

Many Thanks

I think I read on this forum some time ago that heating with a hairdryer or similar, and then gentle persuasion to pull it off (a length of strong thread stretched across the boot and pulled in a sawing action underneath the badge will help).

I know there are several on here that have removed theirs, so they will be able to tell you how they did it.

Use a heat gun for like 10-15seconds and then carefully start removing the badge from an end.
repeat until the badge comes of.
Be carful not to burn yourself and clean the paint afterwards. Done.

I guess a hairdryer will do it to but prolly gonna take longer :)

Thanks DKZ5745 & Sanity for the replies.

I had read on the forum somewhere about heating it up with a hairdryer but wanted someone who had done it to confirm this is they way to do it. So thanks for that.

Does anyone knowwhat is used to hold the badge on as I guess I'm going to needed this for the replacement?

Cheers

If you buy the badge from peugeot it usually comes with tape on the back. If not buy some 3M or similar there is some really good ones out there.

DRTDVL,

I'll give the floss a go.cheers for that.
Ďo you heat up the badge? If so what do you use? I've aquired a heat gun (Black & Decker paint stripper) for the job. What do you use to remove any glue residue?
I am considering de-badging mine but need to find some pis of what it would look like first.

Thanks for any info.

I just used dental floss and no heat, then wax and grease remover, and then applied some wax to the area.

I just used some black pvc tape to get an idea of what it would look like without the badging.

Before

After tape

DRTDVL,

Great images, it's got me thinking. I think I prefer the de-badged version?

Cheers for the post.

Not clean and probably not the best angle but it's the only photo I could find of the rear of the car after we took them off...

Haha we where on a fun car drive, it was a zombie themed event. Two days rocking around the central North Island, racked up about 1250 odd km in 2 days.

Hello guys. I removed name badges with hair dryer.
As to lion badge, I removed it too but it looks sucks and I decided to wrap it with black cover and put it back.
