Re new car gears

Hi guys just traded in my 2011 diesel gt for a brand new 2014 156 sport only 20 miles on clock driving gears seem tight and not going into gear properly stealers say it brand new and needs to we're in to find grooves in box doesn't drive as well as my diesel will the box get better with miles any comments cheers fastchef

I have exactly the same car as you. Had it a year now and the gear change is very smooth.

Some people do say that the gear change in the Mk1 can be difficult from 1st to 2nd.

The brand manager at Pistonheads hates the gearbox on the RCZ . Mine is like yours fastchst, it's not very smooth at all.

Found mine to always be very 'crunchy'.

Not sure if it's the same gearbox on the 200THP but mine was fine from new.

You could perhaps ask your dealer for a time frame beyond which they would consider it a problem so that you and they know you'll be bringing out back in if it doesn't improve

It's not the smoothest gearchange but it's OK. 1st into 2nd is the least satisfying.

As above bit rough only sometimes thou rest are fine.
