It would be necessary to look at it from below in an elevator, and forcing with a lever see if there is movement in any bushing or ball joint, or perhaps something is broken.

Surely only with the jack up you can't apply enough force, but surely there is something that moves when accelerating

Also, make sure the steering rack is securely fastened.

Thanks for the reply. I will be taking it to a friends garage soon to put it on his ramp.
I was wondering if anyone had had similar problems and found the issue.

Possibilities are the wheel alignment is out causing the unequal weight distribution to either side of wheels
Bad suspension geometry through badly worn Track rod arms traction control arms anti roll bar bushes etc
Traction control is suspect pulls left & right sometimes referred as floating steering

Thanks pedro. Will check that all out on ramps.
yes it does feel like floating steering. Does that mean tc could be at fault?
Maybe but these cars have an electronic steering rack as in the EPS system if this develops a fault from the motor or sensors the car may pull from one side to the other & would produce a soft spongy (floating ) feel to the steering I wouldn't rule out the Rack entirely as the motor or sensors can begin to fail causing your symptoms that is of coarse ruling out a suspension issue

this sounds like a problem with the either drivers side wishbone bushes or lower ball joint. accelerating it would pull that wheel forward and make the car turn left, under braking it would push the wheel backwards making the car turn right. check the bushes where the arm goes into the subframe also the ball joint. jack it up and get in there with a lever bar as sometimes its difficult to assess it with the weight of the suspension hanging on the joints.
