RCZ - short lived and gone

With sadness my RCZ is gone I simply could not cope with the constant breakdowns and stress this has caused "Thanks Bristol Street Motors" :brickwall: :brickwall:

Purchased 29th April - 14 days later turbo fails, replaced
Weeks later high pressure fuel pump failed - replaced
2 weeks later no oil in car!!! Although BSM checked the levels when they did the work 2 weeks earlier so how did it loose that much oil. Really I don't think it was checked or topped back up again!!!
1 month later oil coolant level top up
6 weeks later coolant top up again.. Only 600 miles in between top up
2 weeks coolant war I and header empty... 400 miles this time!
3 weeks later oil all over my new block paving drive way .. Fantastic , tension bolt loose not under warranty £160 unable to reclaim.
Thanks I am really loving this experience from Peugeot and the dealer "worry free extended warranty" JOkE!!
4 days coolant again and water pump fail - replaced £ 258 under warranty but I have to pay then Reclaim back.... That's it!!!
RCZ gone.... £4k loss in 4,800 miles and 7 months. I am certain there is a deserving charity out there that I could have given my money to and not Peugeot. Maybe they can use it on research and development or customer services training!

I am Dealing with Peugoet separately.... Not sure what The outcome will be!! The dealer customer service is cr4p!

I now have Mini Cooper S Coupe....

Bye everyone and I hope you have a better experience in your RCZ than I did. Still a sunning car to look at but sh1te under the bonnet!!

Such a shame about the RCZ Arakoola, but I guess every marque produces a dodgy one and unfortunately this time you were unlucky.

However....welcome to the Coop S!!! Are you lovin' it? Reminiscent of the RCZ in the shape I guess. I almost bought the Roadster but my sensible side plonked for the F56 Hatch instead. Although it's an absolute hoot to drive and great in the city (unlike the mahoosive RCZ) I SO miss the head turns. No-one's looked twice at the MINI, orange or not. I've not dismissed the thought of future RCZs though......

Post a pick of the S!!

Sorry to hear that you've at to get shot of your RCZ,
I've had that happen twice now with new motorbikes, I never knew if or when I was going to actually finish my journey without being picked up by the breakdown company.
Although I must say the first bike it happened with the company replaced it after so many issues. That was many years ago now.

Good luck with the Mini, I had diesel clubman cooper and it was the most economic car I have ever had (average 62-68 per gallon) and didn't cost me a penny in repairs or servicing with the cheap plan that mini do.
Only got rid of it at the time because I needed a bigger car.

I keep reading about the problems some people are having with their are RCZ's.
Are these on all models or mainly just one. ie petrol or diesel.
I feel a bit concerned about these problems that people are experiencing, hoping that there not all like it

Hi Alfy,
I too was concerned when I joined this forum after getting my Z in September.

What you need to realise is that there are many many people who own RCZ's who are not members of this forum, and indeed many many members of this forum, non of whom have had any problems worth mentioning.

Because people don't complain when they don't have problems you will not read anything about them. It seems therefore that everyone has RCZ problems because that's almost all you read about.

I have had one issue so far, which was resolved under warranty. I love my Z. I cannot drive my car often enough.

I think that worrying about issues that haven't happened is not the way forward. Enjoy your car for what it is, the best looking car on the road, with a performance that delivers what the looks promise.

I understand where your coming from Pete, I know you normally only hear the horror stories and it does put people off.
I must say though my partner has had Peugeot company cars for the last 12 years and they have all been trouble free so far and the bigger ones have been a pleasure to drive.

I too love the RCZ and have done since it was launched but only just been able to get one due to personal reasons.
I also love it when people stop to look at the car and some can't believe its a Peugeot lol.

Hi.. Day 3 of the Coupe and yes loving it but miss the RCZ as I said in my post it's stunning to look at a pleasure to drive and a head turner.... But that wasn't enough for me to keep her I'm afraid! Preserving my sanity and lowering stress levels was a must for me! I go down some country lanes daily and felt like "breathing in" in the RCZ when a car was on coming as 2.1m wide is mahoosive!!
I will take a piccie of the S Coupe and upload - the file size of the ones I have are too big to upload!!
Maybe in The future I will return to an RcZ.... I never say never!

Hi Alfy
The dealer was no way offering any help what so ever... Hence cutting my losses.... I wish they were more understanding of my situation...
We have an AMG Merc and a Defender so the Mini Copper S Coupe is a car to have some fun in!! And oh what fun it is!! :D

Ha ha a bit like us ... we used to have a C63 AMG (now a Porsche Boxster GTS) and a Freelander (known as 'Basil' as it's always faulty, being 10 years old.... but it's great to have a motor for the dirty jobs!)

The coupes still have the Turbi Prince Engine at the moment so that same as the RCZ

Hopefully though your time with "last thing friday" cars are over and the Mini is a nice Tuesday built car ;)

As far as I'm aware it's only the new F56 hatch Cooper S that has the new engine?

Hi Debbie.
Sorry it didn't work out for you.
I know you had many issues, and your dealer experience was real poor.
It's a pity customer relations couldn't resolve everything for you, but I guess you get to the point where enough is enough.
All the best with your new toy.

Thanks Stagger.... I have followed up on the encouraging advice you gave but couldn't wait for the outcome and full resolve when the water pump failed... That was it for me..still hoping for some feedback from the dealer but not holding my breath!!
Having fun so far.
