My RCZ - R generated a fault light last weekend. Took it to the dealers on Tuesday who have told me that the high pressure fuel pump needs replacing. Thankfully I had bought an extended warranty (it's just over 3 years old) as recommended through Peugeot. Two problems however. Firstly, the Peugeot Dealer is being very unhelpful. Despite the warranty being offered by Peugeot and badged as Peugeot (see attached picture) apparently it has nothing to do with Peugeot and so they are being really unhelpful. Secondly, I'm told that a new fuel pump is likely to take between three and six months to arrive. Has anyone else heard of this? It's going to be a real problem being without a car until potentially November, with no compensation.

Updated - I am told that they will give me an update on Monday. They are not sure whether or not the warranty company assessor has visited yet so it may not be covered by the warranty. Quote on part was online - it appears there are very low stock levels.

I'd go directly to Peugeot UK and report the dealers unhelpfulness.

Maybe give the dealer one more chance, mentioning you will contact Peugeot UK if no joy. Nothing like the fear of losing their franchise to encourage dealers to do their duty.

What complete tripe.
I bet it didn't take you 3 months to give them your money.

The 3 to 6 months for the part is an embarrassing negative slant from a dealership who clearly sees no profit in you.

I'd also be tempted to mention to them they are are now being discussed on a major Peugeot forum and are as of yet unnamed.

Phone call to Peugeot UK customer service I think. It might also be an idea to call the help line for the warranty company. I have taken out the same warranty on mine. It is Peugeot branded, but is in fact provided by a third party as you have point out.

It is totally unreasonable to expect you to wait that long for a part.

I had the same extended warranty and it worked without an issue through my local dealer. The pump might be in shortage though, you could take the part number and ring the parts desk directly to inquire about its availability.

The warranty (£229 or 269 with AA breakdown cover) is the official Peugeot warranty and dealers should cover all work.
Part should not be an issue, it will be in stock in France, should take a week max for it to arrive.
Would also look at changing your dealer, if they are that unhelpful then they dont deserve your custom.

If you go for the extra breakdown cover it's worth paying an extra £20 for non mechanical breakdowns as well as this includes punctures.

That's why I gambled and didn't take extended warranty. For example, I had my electric water pump dead twice, Peugeot dealer wanted £80 and wait time was 1 month. I went to a BMW dealer, and got it for £30.

An update - car is now safely back. I talked to Peugeot UK who prioritized the fuel pump (they were really helpful) and talked to the dealership. The dealer even waived the £102 plus VAT to plug the car into the diagnostic machine. Warranty covered the £1000 for the new fuel pump plus the cost of fitting (three hours labour) and all is working.

Amazing when a chat with Peugeot Uk suddenly makes an unhelpful dealership become helpful.

Shouldn't have to do it though.

£102 for diagnostic. Robbing buggers.
My laptop, interface, software and a brew doesn't add up to that.
