I had a 200gt for nearly a year and sold it earlier then expected due to some annoying niggles. Great car but I hated the sat nav and radio with a passion. Anyway, considering getting an r now and whilst I can probably put up with archaic sat nav system in exchange for the better performance, I used to hate two things with the GT that I hope don't exist in the r and wonder if owners can confirm it.
First, the electric seats. The back on mine used to clonk when your braked or accelerated. You could move it maybe an inch and the noise and general feeling of flimsiness used to grate in an otherwise good cabin. R seats are different. Do the clonk/squeak or rattle?
Pedals. No I know French cars have odd pedal offsets and heights and I used to often catch my foot under brake pedal when moving from accelerator (size 11s could explain it lol) but the high position and overly sensitive throttle meant stop start traffic was a pain. Again, big feet, big lever moment, maybe it was just me, but I used to have to concentrate not to cause the car to kangaroo. Never had that in anything else, even with hair throttles, so always blamed either dodgy engine control logic or the high pedal position. R has same pedal position but, with so many changes to engine, is it better, is worse, in traffic?
Thanks for any replies.
