Unless you think that £0 is "very rich", you really are deluded. No franchised dealer would last any time in business if they did any of those things . Not only would they see their reputation in tatters, and lose their franchise, but they would also be subject to prosecution.
I bought a second-hand Lexus from a main dealer in Wolverhampton in 2014. Never saw them again, as I had it serviced at a Lexus dealer closer to home. In 2018, I noticed a very unusual issue with the car that had been there when I bought it. One phone call to the supplying dealership and they agreed to pay the full costs of my local dealer rectifying it. Try to get that sort of product support from a non-franchised dealer.
Only that if you interacted with those dealers in the same way that you appear to interact on this forum, then I'm not surprised that you may not have received the best quality of service from them.
Any BMW dealer can service an M-Power car, but some of the dealerships have invested further in training and equipment, and are specialists in those cars. I always used them to get my cars serviced. The same is true for Porsche dealerships and RS specialists. Hence I was wondering whether Peugeot (which is a marque that I am new to) also had some dealers who specialised in R cars.
You call me deluded, but you don't have a clue. Your naivety is staggering.
You honestly believe every car a main dealer sells is 100% genuine? You believe they carry out servicing and repairs to a high standard without fail?
All those main dealers do exactly what I've said.
Even brand new cars turn up damage repaired. Your lack of knowledge/blind faith is why so many car dealers pull the stunts they do. Most of their customers lack the relevant knowledge, or care, and they get away with selling poor quality cars, or cutting corners at servicing and repairs.
I've twice had brand new cars turn up damaged. The Mercedes dealer put up a massive fight not to reject my A45 AMG. It took 7.5 months to finally resolve. Over on the Mercedes forums issues with the dealers was all too common. It's the same for all brands I've had.
I've walked away from many approved used car on a dealer forecourt due to poor condition and faults. I've travelled across the country to pick up cars from main dealers that I've promised are mint to find they are nothing of the sort.
I've travelled 6-7 hours to collect a car that the master technician went over with a fine tooth comb to make sure it was 100%. I didn't get out of the car park before hearing obvious mechanical faults. The car was all over the place on the road. It was dangerous.
I've caught out a BMW M dealer falsifying the AUC checklist to avoid replacing costly parts. I did report that to the dealer principal. He couldn't have cared less and I escalated it to BMW UK. Their response was it's up to the dealer what standards they adhere to.
Have a little look for websites like Vcheck or Dodgy Cars and see how many cars that have been involved in very bad accidents and have been insurance write offs. The car doesn't get logged as a write off and ends up back on the road badly repaired. These cars have been found at main dealers right through to supercar level. They've managed to pass all AUC checks when someone with basic knowledge would find fault.
There has been TV programmes about the above. You haven't seen anything like that?
There was a high profile incident just the other week. A well known car collector bought a BMW M2CS. The dealer knew the customer and the exposure he would get. He promised the car collector the car was mint.
The car was delivered on a trailer and as soon as it rolled off there was a catalogue of issues that a blind man would see. The car had been involved in a major accident and badly repaired. This was a £87,500 car a main BMW dealer sent to a high profile customer, one they knew would find faults and the garage's reputation would be at risk with bad service.
The garage then made stupid excuses that the car must have been damaged in transit. It had been damaged and repaired. It wasn't damaged between the dealer and customer as claimed. The dealer was also digging their heels in to refund the buyer. They were getting shamed over car forums and they still didn't care.
The way I interact? None of the issues I've had with cars has anything to do with how I interact with people. Most of the interactions I've had with dealers are fine. The quality of their workmanship and aftercare is a different matter. It says more about you that you jump to unfounded conclusions like that, especially with your condescending attitude openly on display here.
Good luck finding a Peugeot dealer.
