RCZ Meet - Lake District?

Hi guys, back on the forum after a little while out!

I'm moving up to Lancashire next weekend so I will be available for more Northern meets than every before! I've never been to an RCZ meet before but I am extremely excited to being able to finally attend one.

Thinking of locations I thought that the Lake District would be a GREAT place to meet and convoy - attracting lots of attention.

Let me know how many of you are interested in this location?

Lake District is lovely....but the roads can be narrow and they've lot of spikey hedges. We went to the LD in our FFRS and we needed to machine polish out the thorn scratches. Too many big 4X4s and people carriers coming the opposite way :(

I'd definitely recommend a trial drive, suss the place of interest out....

I can concur that the LD is not the most wonderful place for actual driving if you're venturing between villages and the such. We were there in July and some of the roads look like they haven't been widened since horse and cart. That was in the VXR and it's not much slimmer than the RCZ. There's also an absolute bundle of cyclists, walkers and tourist buses so you have to have your wits about you. That said, there are some stunning locations and fun roads with spectacular scenery.

A correctly planned route as Donna suggests could make this a belter of a meet though and some wonderful photo ops. Some absolutely top notch breweries and eateries too. I can highly recommend The Wild Boar. It's awesome. Some of the best steaks that I've ever eaten and their home brews (brewed on site) are pretty damn good too!!

I have to agree - the country roads on the way and in-between villages are very narrow. When I visited I was lucky enough to not cross paths with another driver :)

When I'm in the area next I will try and find a better route... the photo opportunities as mrizzle has mentioned would be fantastic! I was in Windermere last weekend and the amount of turned heads on a white TTS was unreal, although when I drove threw 2 cars behind they're heads and eyes were re-focused! hahaha! Anyway, I love the idea of 10+ Z's driving in convoy through every village... even on a busy Saturday yes we'll be idle a few times but I bet you we will get looks after looks!

Abz, Donna and mrizzle - would you both be up for a LD meet if the route was sorted?

That happened to us on the Yorkshire meet last year. We drove through a village with a beer garden outside. The folk on the pavement looked like they were watching tennis!

The Lake district is not so far away from Hull (ferry from Zeebrugge - Belgium). So for RCZ owner's from Belgium it could be intresting to join the meet.

Hi.Just bought a new 'R' on Monday1st Sept.I would be interested in a meet somewhere around the Lake District as I live just down at Preston.Eventually I would like to organise a regular 'Club meet' or something.Possibly in or near to Lancashire/Cumbria.Any suggestions would be welcome.Thanks.Martin. P.S. Going to Mitton Hall near Clitheroe(Supercar Sunday) on 7th Sept.around 10/11 o'clockish. Any other RCZ owners like to meet there?

Ah, Preston! Just down the road from where I'm moving to tomorrow! Hopefully see you around the area! Which colour is your R and reg (if you don't mind disclosing) so that I can flash or spoiler wave you, if you're behind me!

Not been to a meet yet. Would be very interested. I live in Chester and was hoping a North west or North Wales meet might happen. I do visit the Lake District reasonably often. Let's make it so.
