Hi guys

do any of you have any pictures of a lowered rcz using h& r or eibach springs with the 20mm drop.

i want the springs in a black colour and these are the only 2 suppliers who seem to do them.

im just unsure whether 20mm is enough so i need to see some pics before i purchase.

i have the rcz 200gt in mercury sat on midnight silver 19" alloys

thanks in advance

M

IMO don't lower a car with just springs...sure it will give the car a look of being lower, but you will lose ride and handling characteristics, this is because you are depressing the stock shocks/struts and the rebound will cause the car to move around. On a track not a problem because tracks are smoother than regular roads, but you will be driving on regular roads and they are not smooth. But hey at the end of the day it's your decision and I say 20mm is enough.

To do it right, you need a spring and shock/strut kit that has been tested. Yep more money, but hey you get what you pay for ... good luck and post pictures.

the last 2 photos is next to the rcz of Joske. He is not lowered sow it give's you an idea.
The brand of the springs i have is Cobra. They are red coloured and lower for 3 CM. butt afer a while the car lowers more because now my car is lowered for about 4/5 CM. still not a problem to drive and as you can see on the pictures, not to low.

and to reply about just the springs. i placed them and my rcz is just sticking to the road, race track AND normal roads.
you lose a little bitt of comfort butt the car handling is much better now.

A little bit of comfort losing???

I was broken after a few hundred km through France B-roads. :helpme:

Not surprised and sorry to hear about this.

I will say that the RCZ does look better lowered, however it should be done correctly.

Again springs do lower the car for better aesthetics and will provide better handling, but the ride is lost because the springs are not matched to the shocks/struts (and vice-versa). With a spring and shock/strut kit that has been built together, and tested, then you will achieve both handling and ride, you then also get the benefit of lowering the car. The better systems will allow you to adjust the ride height.

Another thing to remember, once you change the suspension in any way, you will require a 4-wheel alignment.

I am not condoning going with springs only, but not for me, it will be a full system, cost is more but the result is far superior

Yes I am not a fan of the springs only way, as I have been there done that and since I have, I now only invest if full suspension systems for the cars I own, or owned. I will tell you that once you go into a corner with lowering springs and hit a bump, you will wish you didn't have springs only as you change lanes without you wanting too.

The lowered RCZs look really smart. However, if I was to do this in Aberdeen I would spend most of my time trying to find alternative routes to avoid the speed bumps which my car would no longer clear. That combined with the dodging of pot holes (more like road caverns) would make for a less enjoyable driving experience for me. That said, good on you for customising your cars and making it a little more personal to you. Just a quick question, how does it affect the resale? :eusa-think:
