RCZ JBL speaker blown

Hello guys,

I own an rcz for the last two years. Unfortunately my rear left speaker is blown. I have the JBL stereo system as an option. Does anyone know if replacing both the rear speakers with a set of speakers from a different brand (most probably kenwood) will they be fully compatible with the JBL amplifier?

From my knowledge of Hi-Fi seperates (showing my age here) any speaker that has the correct impedance and wattage will be fine.

You should be able to find out the required spec from the speakers you are replacing, or from the paperwork relating to the JBL system.

Car Stereo systems are no different to home units in that respect. :eusa-think:

Being a keen audiophile myself I just completely replaced my speakers with hi-end BOSE ones for that purer sound quality... :eusa-whistle:

A real audiophile knows that Bose & sound quality doesn't add up ;)
More like tweaked unnatural sound.

Nice job though :)

Does anyone know whats the power of the rear speakers have? The guy from the garage said they each have a power output of 70rms , dont know if to trust him though as there was nowhere to be written on the speakers when he took them off, most propably he made a guess.. Any he said he is replacing them with a set of alpine speakers but this time with a power output of 90 watts rms..is this ok?

I wasn't using the upgraded JBL, but the NG4 and the standard speakers. Had them replaced by Alpines, both door and back (which are 6x9). Was a fantastic gain, but clearly the head unit can't manage to push them as they deserve.
At my Sportage, the Premium sound (Infinity system, JBL speakers) was a disappointment. Cheap speakers, 2ohm, weird setup (staged as full range at the front, but somehow poor bass, mainly bass back doors, and the sub). Had to use a line converter to solve the ridiculous setup, but now the neighbours can tell from 2 blocks when I'm coming home.
In your case, my main advice is to check if the speakers are 2 or 4 ohm, as if they're 2ohm and you replace them with 4ohm, you'll lose loudness. Better call JBL and get the exact spec from your system.
