so 6 years after my upgreades (stage 3) i felt that the car was not pulling as it should (58000 km on the clock)
i went for a dyno run and the result was dissapointing
220hp at 5750rpm and then the chaos
the diagram was awful with many ups and downs

after valve cleaning with soda blasting and new spark plugs i visited the same dyno

260hp at 6500rpm (50hp more!! than before) full power at high revs, much much better diagram everywhere
in a few words a much faster car from 2000rpm till 7000rpm!!!

from my experience everyone should clean the valves at 50000km the most
it makes a great difference

Hey,
Glad you got it sorted, where did you do the soda blasting? price estimate? time required?

It shows how important a clean intake is.
I did it on mine too but inbetween I just blasted her all over the autobahn. That helped too.

soda blasting was made in athens greece
it took 4 hours and the cost was 220 euro
i saw the valves before and after
Although before they weren't too bad the difference in performance is chaotic
of caurse after the cleaning they are as good as new

yes moving fast in highways helps a lot but does not prevent it
Mine is a second car and i ussually use it for raod trips
also R is a little different
it has different compression than 156 & 200, it has a cap in the one exit of fumes and in general the whole intake system works a little different
