On the I September I finally collected my new RCZ 2.0 HDi GT from Norton Way Peugeot in Letchworth. It's Nera Black with 19 inch Sortilege onyx black wheels. Since the car was ordered in February, this was quite a wait. I actually ordered the car without having tested it or even sat in it!!! Well, I am not dissapointed...I was originally considering an Audi TT but got a little fed up with being asked to pay for such basics such as cruise control. So, sorry Audi; you lost my business. I had to drive the car to my place of work in Germany on the Sunday and this necessitated a trip on P&O from Dover. I had a few heart stopping moments boarding as I was scared the car might bottom out on the ramps! But, all was well. The car is a real head turner and I keep getting stopped when parking up to asked questions.
There are so few of them in Germany. Since I ordered my car in February, I have only seen two. Having said that, I saw one whilst on holiday in French Guadeloupe in the Carribean!
The next challenge for me is get a set of winter tyres as these are now compulsory in Germany. This could be difficult and expensive. I have already had to fit European lights (Peugeot Letchworth did this for me.)
The diesel engine is very economical. I put a full tank in as I left London and after 360 miles, the trip computer is still telling me that I won't need to fill up for about 200 miles. We shall see....
I have no major niggles at at all about the car so far although the Bluetooth does turn off my cell phone!!! (It's probably time to change the ancient phone!!!) It drives very well and has loads of poke when required.
