Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the movie trailer for a film called 'Focus'
Staring Will Smith and Magot Robbie. Will smith drives a RCZ.
It's the first time that I have seen one appear in any film... Don't know if the films any good yet but it might get people
Interested into what car it is.
Check it out the trailer on IMDB. Focus out in February.

They should have gone for the old Black Sol's on a Moroccan with Black Arches though, thought Will would have known better

I agree DKZ5745. Not seen 3 days to kill. Any good ?
I read an article from What car. October Edition. And it said that they probably won't be making any newer versions of the RCZ after the current one. Just focusing on the R version. But it will be on sale for the next 2 years only. That's coming from the company's boss. Could that be down to lack of interest ?
If it's shown in a film it might create interest and that could only be good for the future of RCZS.
Has one been in any other films ?
I would post a link to What Car magazine but not sure have to do that on an iPad ?

I thought the news from a couple of months ago was that they were not updating the RCZ, and that the CEO had stated that they would be concentrating on sporting derivatives of the mainstream cars. I.e 308 R or RS.
I posted a link to this a while a go IIRC (or someone else may have)

Hi stagger321,

I think that's what I meant. Sorry didn't see the other post. New on the forum. Trying to catch up on older posts.
So does that mean no more new versions of the RCZ will be made ?

Yeah well there is that :)

So what year will be the final production year for the RCZ? I should go buy an R before they stop making them!

I wonder if they have considered a diesel RCZ-R.

Don't laugh just remember that Peugeot put I think it was 3 RCZs in the Nurburgring 24hr race and came 1st and 3rd in class with diesels!!!

There are some of us out here who prefer the diesel!

The RCZ RD ( with a more aggresive front face.) That would be a superb option for 'old' and potential customers. Sadly though, Peugeot seem to revel in self harm.

Peugeot has an excellent reputation for its diesel engines.
The original RC prototype also had a diesel variant, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peugeot_RC

I remember years ago having a drive in a driving instructor friend of mine's Pug 30something diesel. I was amazed at the acceleration for a diesel, and that was obviously not a "tuned" engine, so I am quite sure if they put their experts to work, they could come up with a stunningly quick RCZ RD that could turn even the most dedicated petrol heads round. :ugeek:

Well they already do the 2.2L diesel in the 508 that puts down 204 bhp/450 Nm. It's the same size block as the 2.0L currently found in the RCZ so it couldn't be that big of a deal to shoehorn that in there.

Would definitely buy a RCZ R diesel. More that happy with my 2.0 Hdi 163 GT.
MORE than enough power for me. I've had diesel Peugeots for more than 10 years now.
First a 306 then a 308 and now the RCZ. They have never let me down. As long as it's serviced regular and taken
Care of. Planning to buy a new version after the current model I own now in a few years.
Got to start saving all over again.

What's needed is an entry by Peugeot in this years BTCC. Not sure of the technical rules and regs, but it would probably be too late for this years entry anyway.

'Focus' looks pretty decent. I've for a soft spot for Will Smith. He's a very very cool chap. The RCZ looks like it's in for a tough time in the the film though!!
