RCZ; an appreciating modern classic one day?

Will this happen & the RCZ considered an investment?

Such a difference between used 2010 prices; I've seen up to £2k difference for the same model/age/mileage car & anything in between. Makes you wonder what the market for these is currently up to!

Reasonable scarcity, fairly limited production run, sports car, great press, but - the Pug badge on it......

Would be interested to hear other people's thoughts....

My thoughts are no. Maybe the R.

That said, the Pug badge wouldn't necessarily be a show stopper - 205 GTIs are on the way up.

Hi, I think most definitely the R will be a modern classic and prices will rise quicker than the Mk2 GTs and the MK1s there are loads of RCZs for sale and as you say the price varies quite a lot form car to car but as all second hand cars some have been cherished and well cared for and others have just been "transport" I believe prices will go up for nice low mileage Zs but it's going to be a few more years yet, I'm into my Z for the long term so not really bothered about the depreciation I just know it will be a future classic how long that will take who knows. :eusa-think:

I genuinely believe that the RCZ will at some point be classed as a design classic. I don't think it will be in the near future, in fact, I would say very few current owners are likely to still have their Z's when this happens.

I think there has to be a lot fewer cars on the market before the Z can get anywhere near that status.

I too intend keeping mine indefinitely, but who knows what the future holds, so I would never say never for changing it, I just don't think there is anything on the market in my price bracket that I would choose over my Z. I would buy an R in a heartbeat, but my OH has made it very clear that our next car will be different, so an R is not on the cards. Thankfully, she has no desire to change cars for the foreseeable either, so it looks like me & the Z will be a partnership for some time yet to come.

Well I like my cars and make no shakes at hiding the fact that I follow the Porsche marquee.

Now yes I'm not stupid - honest ! I know there is a huge difference between a Porsche and a Peugeot, but I'm not comparing engines or badges, I'm comparing BEAUTY as we have seen recently on the " curves topic " !

There is no denying that the design of the RCZ ( all of them ) is beauty in masculine and feminine quantity, hence why so many women drive the cars.
I have said before, what we once considered just plain ol cars of the early eighties, are fetching high prices for clean examples, and that's whats left now cos of people not different to us who cherish their cars and others who use for daily transport etc. It's mainly the good ones which are and will continue to be maintained, that will demand high prices.
Look at cars which are just plain ugly yet demand high prices because no-one bought them and consequently are now rare. It takes the wealthy to take an interest and sit on in his / her collection and others follow. We are lucky not only do we have a beautiful car that has proved itself to be worthy of all the accolades it has picked up since it's launch, there is the added bonus of the racing R developed by Peugeot Sport. Read what the Peugeot CEO is saying in a recent statement and he mentions going head to head with the likes of Porsche with another Sport derived Pug.
And that may be the car to temp RCZ ers to change - if it isn't 7 figures !
But and I think this will be true, there will always be a diehard group of owners who keep their car just because they like it and don't care what it's resale value is.
Just remember if we bought RCZ's for investment we should have bought gold bars or sovereigns , but Peugeot did us all a favour when they chopped the Z.
