So how are you getting on with the tuning box? Tried it out yet? I would be interested to know how it drives.

Sorry for the delay in reply,

The tuning box is really good!
The below info is only for the 2.0 HDI engines only.
9 Mpg more per tank full and it feels so much more smooth through all the gears (although 1st gear is crap anyway)
I can change gear from 1st to 3rd to 6th no probs and its returning 45mpg all day no matter how i or the missus drives it.
This is the link to the box we bought:
http://www.pro-bitz.com/eshop/products/diesel-chip-tuning/Peugeot/RCZ/RCZ-HDi/prod_1115.html
Only £89 off the Bay!
The tuning box is an easy 10 minute fit, remove the 4 screws from the top Unplug the Common rail pressure plug, plug the box in via the 'T' piece connection and job done.
Its placed after the ECU so no change to the map, as long as its removed before any service work then you will have no problem.

Sounds really good. What do you believe would be Peugeot Uk's attitude to such a modification? What about insurance etc.

Does anybody still buy this crap?

Just 3 points on the website that makes me wonder if the person who wrote it drove a RCZ HDi hemself.

Transform the feel of your Peugeot RCZ HDi in minutes...Say good-bye to turbo lag!

Which turbo lag? RCZ picks up at 1100rpm an pulls all the way to the "redzone"

Climb hills with ease and make motorway cruising effortless

Really?

Tow caravans and trailers with ease

Tow caravans? If they are under 500kg.

Most of those powerboxes "lie" to the ECU.
Biggest problem with those boxes is that the keep sending faulty parameters to the ECU, even when there's a major error. The ECU will normally prevent in that case further damage to the engine by running in "failure mode" (less power, limited revs,...). Those types of powerboxes will still try to gain power during "failure mode" with even further damage.

The issue with the latest ECU is that they are "self learning". The ECU notices some differences and will try to adjust the parameters to get back within limits. After a month or 2 the "extra power" will be compensated. So "a lot off money for nothing"

"Cheape horses don't excist"

Thanks for that Joske. It is nice to see both sides of the argument. I have no knowledge or experience of such things, but it did read well and is/was a temptation, providing it is warranty friendly

There's no way in hell that peugeot would still cover the warranty if you installed one of these and left it in the engine bay when you take it in. Whether or not the ECU will show some evidence of it being used is another matter.

I also agree with the comments on the fact that the person that wrote the advantages hadn't driven an RCZ.
