I might be talking out of turn here but I don't think there is any major difference.

It might have different breathing setup, but I think the components are the same.

I've seen that the 200 with a map can be around 270bhp what will the 156bhp need to get to this if it can ? Thanks

ONLY AEK is your man on this one ;) your not going to get 270bhp our of a 200 with just a remap :eusa-think: there are quite a few upgraded components required to achieve this and as ONLY AEK will testify you can get close to 270bhp with a 156 but it’s not easy.

Short (& obvious) answer is @ 44 bhp. :eusa-think:

I have driven both & I did find a noticeable difference in power, which is why I went on to buy a 200GT.

It may be possible to stretch the 156 to near 270 bhp but you have to realise what other components are different on the R compared to a standard 156, and why so many parts are different/upgraded.

I think to safely get a 156 driving with near 270 it would actually work out cheaper to source an R & get that.

Even the 200 (which was the fastest car Peugeot had ever made until they brought out the R) would need major upgrades to make it reliable/safe at those kind of bhp increases.

There is nothing wrong with increasing the performance of any car, but you have to consider many other factors (brakes/handling/suspension etc) when doing so.

So come on AEK - How did you get 268 BHP out of your 156 ?

there are quite a new first bloods on here who would be very interested in learning how you did it !!

So be a darling and pray tell  It would be an interesting read.

Cheers M.....

PS. did you ever change front ends or was it just the sensors?

So ONLY AEK, what do you think it’s cost you to get your car to over 260bhp? :eusa-think:

thats not a simple question (especially for me with my poor english)

i will tell you what i did and what it cost me

bigger i/c, for 156 thp we use the seat sport for ibiza i/c
https://www.google.com/search?q=ths+int ... VojhjQs10M:
this one is what i have and it cost me around 400 euro with the installation

bigger exhaust from downpipe till back cost 850 euro

mini cooper jcw hybrid turbo, bought second hand for 600 euro (sold mine for 300) paid 60 euro for installation
ideally you should buy also the jcw manifold (don't have it)

ecu reprogramme cost around 300 euro

this setup will produce more than 250 hp but cant prommise anyone that he will reach 270

for higher numbers you will also need new pistons etc.

i have this setup for 3 or 4 years now with no problems at all

but i will say again that the major difference in performance between 156 and 200 is the shorter gearing

Actually sounds very reasonable for the performance gains
