RaceChip THP 200

Hello,

This is my first posting here. :)

I just installed a RaceChip Pro to my RCZ THP 200. What a difference... God, the car goes now!!

http://www.racechip.de/racechip-chiptun ... 978-r.html

Installation was pain in the ass, 'cause the air filter has to be taken apart before I had access to one of the cables.

Anyway, car has now so much more torque and power...

Try it! :)

Are you using the Pro version or the standard one?

Appreciate if you could post pics of the installation too.

I have Pro version of the RaceChip.

Installation was a bit pain in the ass, 'cause there are two places where you have to connect the cable. One is very simple just on the top of the engine on the left side. The other one is under the air filter case at the back side of engine. RaceChip sent me photos of a Mini installation and said the engine is similar to one in RCZ. Well it is but I had to take the whole air filter thing apart before there was some space to get my hands on the cable. It took hour and half before I could figure out how to do it. I almost gave up. But in the end I was able to install it. And I really can feel the difference of the torque and power. The bottom line is that installation takes much more than 5 minutes with RCZ. One just needs to be bold and disassemble the air filter case and after cable installation to put it back together again.

Sigh.. I was planning on getting the RaceChip and was looking forward to a 5 minute install... oh well...
JumaJum, did you need any special tools to get the air filter box removed to access the cable?

get yourself a custom remap for the same money or less and no hassle there are hundreds of companies out there that do in 30 minutes and its reverseable and also customised to your specific car, these remaps are physically and diagnostically undetectable by the dealer, where as when you fit the chipbox you WILL HAVE TO REMOVE PRIOR TO ANY VISIT TO YOUR DEALER FOR NO MATTER WHAT IT IS GOING IN FOR??AND IF FOUND I WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND WHOLE LOT OF PARTS OF THE CAR AS WELL :(

my 17 year old step daughter uses that word to me  i know from past experience what hassle these boxes cause and you will have the same hassle, everytime prior to visiting a dealership,a custom remap is better over all juma
