R tuning for 200THP

Has anyone thought about trying the R service electronics on the 200 THP engine. Indeed has anyone done it and if so what was the outcome. I'm sure that my local dealer set the wrong program for my car and the performance was starkly different until I took it elsewhere and had it retuned to the correct program. It now runs like it did when new. Low down torque has returned. It occurred to me that putting the R program into it may have astounding results.

Im sure it would make a difference but im not sure whether it would be good or bad. The power curve will be different anyway :)

It wouldnt give you 270bhp though as a lot of internal work was done to the engine to achieve that.

Yes but even if you got an increase in power and torque, even if the increase was only modest, it would be entirely free with no potential insurance dramas. I might give it a try next service although that is not due to Jan

We do not believe you can use the 'R' tuning on a non-'R' as the ECU's are not the same. Any mapping/tuning on an ECU is specific to the ECU model and version and this goes for THP and HDi models. Even a THP200 tune cannot necessarily be used on other THP200 unless the ECU's are the same release and have the same firmware.

But if you do have this done then let us know if it did work. And if so please let us know what ECU you have and what ECU the map came from.
