Sorry everyone

I have a confession to make I am such a muppet. I actually read about most of these things in the
manual, except for the ashtray, which I found by accident
I think your ways are better though.
I feel like I have been looking at the exam answers before sitting the paper.

My apologies

Frightened myself silly the other night when I cleaned my screen with the washers, when suddenly two clouds of mist erupted from by my headlights! That's when I discovered the headlamp washers activate if you clean your screen with your lights on. Didn't even realise it had them. Good eh?

Actually the computer counts how many times you use the screen washers and engage the headlamp washers every other 7th time you go for the screen washers. Except for some heavy use of screen washers where you pull the switch for a pretty long period at once (for example a big bird unloads really nasty on your screen  )
When the washing fluid goes empty you get a notice in the central matrix display and the computer will not engage the headlamp washers anymore cause from the two areas to clean the screen is still more important.

Headlamps are washed one after the other. That helps maintain some light on the road when in driving in dark (a feature first introduced in the VW Phaeton back in 2000s)

Going by the temperatures my girlfriend is dialing in her sitting zone during cold weather I assume we could roast a chicken in that glovebox.

The hill assist: if your in 1st with the front of the car facing up a hill or in reverse with the rear up the hill the brakes will hold on for 2 seconds to assist with your pulling away.

I've discovered that if you keep flooring it in 2nd & 3rd, you get to go to the petrol station quite a lot

Talking about flooring it: the traction control in the R has a lot of tolerance range. You can spin the wheels without the pesky ESP to kick in. I like it a lot.

Yes that's true, especially when the front is lightly loaded.
TBH, I did wonder if the TC was actually working the first time it did it. Surprising amount of movement and wheel spin really. Maybe I was expecting German sensibility (no disrespect) when what I got was obviously French.

The one thing that does take some getting use to is the occasional sideways twitch with the front again under hard acceleration and light front end loading, or occasionally when accelerating out of corner. Certainly wakes you up on an early morning trip to work.

thank god they made it "french" way
I hate those pesky ESP in all VW and other german brands. the oversensibility (or lack of liberality, to be precise) of those systems somehow reflects the german attitude. no fun, cause it's risky! you sir do on roads only wot is told by se law!

About that lightness you are talking: I put it down to a certain lack of body rigidity. The RCZ is a very fine car, especially the R. But I wish they made the shell more rigid. There isn't much lacking, just a tiny bit. It would help counterfeit that jiggling in the front. But it also would make the car heavier.

Add a simple strut bar in the front? :D Sounds too easy xD

I guess you are right about rigidity, but we have to consider that the RCZ is one of those rare beasts that escaped from the design studio with its fabulous looks intact, rather than being sanitized by the bean counters. The fact that the R drives as well as it does while looking as sexy as as a supermodel means I can therefore forgive it its odd foible. It is after all based on an early iteration of the 308, not known as the ultimate driving car, and that lightweight 1.6L 4 pot lump means a not much of front end weight is holding the two driven wheels down.

Sorry folks this thread took a detour, and it was probably my fault.
Back to awesomeness. I like the way they have added that membrane behind the dash so you hear more growl on acceleration. Its been added just with the driver in mind, which car designers so often forget these days. It doesn't help the fuel economy, but it does help me love the car even more.

The body has already an in-built strut bar there. Have a closer look. There is no need to strengthen this part of the shell on the RCZ. I sense the "problem" more in the middle of the body. But you only sense this small disadvantage when pushing the car to the limits over bumps. In normal driving, including very high speed corners, there is no problem. The suspension works fine on the R.

I like it too! Do you also get this loud exhaust pipe banging on the overrun? Or when suddenly and quickly going off the accelerator while being on high boost? Whoooosh, bang! I love it. It makes kids run away, haha.

So, on the discovery front,
I think that when I turn the car off, the drivers heated seat control wheel returns to off?
I may be imagining things here, but on several occasions getting back into the car recently, the heated seat control has been in the off position, and I know it was on when I got out :wtf:

I don't know about the passenger seat cos I never sit there

Maybe I have a poltergeist :eusa-think:

I get a whoosh, but not a bang mate. Maybe the occasional pop. A bang doesn't sound good mate.
You driving over small children again?

We had considerable debate on this some months back and it was determined that you/brush it when exiting the car hence it returning to the off position. However, of you have poltergeist then that's a bonus and surely worth mentioning at the point of sale!

Is that point of sale or point of keep?
