Pressure washer hose stiffness

I bought my first pressure washer a month ago, a Nilfisk Centennial. It's great...but...is the hose meant to be so bleedin' stiff?? It won't uncoil properly at all.

I can appreciate it needs to be strong because of the pressure of the water it's passing to the lance but it's such a pain to use. Never had or used a pressure washer before so I don't know it that's normal for pressure washers in general or just a quirk of the Nilfisk hose.

Ive had a Nilfisk for ages and get the same problem. Tends to be worse in colder weather. I just play around with it until it's straight (ooh er missus). Had a Karcher before it and it was similar but not as bad.

My nilfisk is stiff aswell, it usually straightens itself during using it. Then its hard to coil it back up again lol

Thanks guys. Glad it's not just mine. But crikey, if I don't like the stiffness now I know I'll hate it in winter! I've tried uncoiling it before I start but it just recoils itself while I'm using it.

Hmmm, I think I'll stop coiling it back onto the washer when I'm finished and see if I can "train" it to be straighter by leaving it uncoiled in the garage. I can see me putting some hooks on the garage wall so I can store it in more of a straight line.

Nilfisk though are very good pressure washers. :thumbup:
They supply to all sorts of profesional industrial & commercial cleaners.
At one time you could only purchase Nilfisk products if you were in the trade, and many councils only use Nilfisk products.
I read somewhere that they have been going far longer than Karcher, and that the Karcher brand was actually formed by Nilfisk for the retail/DIY market. :eusa-think:
