I am currently in discussion about the purchase of a THP 200. I live in Canada and Peugeots have not been sold here for decades. This means that RCZs were never officially imported and we are therefore not allowed to import them until they are at least 15 years old. The car that I am looking at purchasing has a 2010 VIN number but was not registered until May 2011. To be able to import the car now, I need to prove the date of manufacture in 2010, because otherwise they will assume that the date of first registration is the date of manufacture (meaning that I cannot buy the car that I am considering). Does somebody know how I can get the date of manufacture based upon the VIN?

Can the seller, assuming they are in a dealer supported country, not get something to help you from a dealer their end.

Hi there just to let you know that there's a few sticky labels put around the car when on the production line that says date and time it was in production wonder if they could be helpful to you...

I am looking at a car in Japan and the only date that appears on any Japanese document only indicates the date of first registration and Peugeot in Japan will only confirm the date of first registration, so I need to find another non-Japanese document that states when the car was manufactured, either from Peugeot in Europe or from Magna in Austria where it was assembled.

Those date stickers would likely be valuable once in Canada but since I cannot import the vehicle until it is 15 years old, I cannot have access to those stickers to help with proving the date of manufacture to be able to establish the earlier date for import. The seller may be willing to help me out though so do you know where these stickers are most likely to be found on the car?

Thank you very much! The web-site you indicated is not able to provide the document that I needed but it did help me locate the website: Certificates and attestations - L'Aventure that should be able to. I'll see what they tel me. If I am successful in getting the information and am able to purchase/import/license the car, I will post some photos of what will perhaps then be the only RCZ in either Canada or the United States
