7 would have been nice - au naturelle - the fake sparkles spoil it for me !

Excuse me mate, the sparkles, as you call them, are not fake. Created in camera using a high aperture.
But each to their own as they say :)
as I said, au natural, there is no way that sparkle on the rear light is natural- you would never se that in real life- its like the moon landing photos, the suns on the wrong side. I do love the rest of the picture and I think it's one of the best we have ever had!

Sorry Scott but RCZ1 is absolutely right. It's just one of the wonderful things you can do with an DSLR. I have attached a link to demonstrate the effect of increasing the aperture.

http://www.clickinmoms.com/blog/christm ... o-sparkle/

Also, for your knowledge, increasing or lowering shutter speeds has a dramatic effect. If you have a dslr then, try lowering the shutter speed and taking images of a fast flowing river. You'll be astonished at the dreamy nature of the water flow that you see as a result.

I can assure you the sparkle on the rear is natural. The sun was actually going down just behind the tree on the right, as I was using the tree to diffuse the full glare to avoid blown highlights and to help capture as much detail as possible. This is how the light came to be shining on the rear of the car. I also had to use a graduated filter on the camera to hold back the sky, which is how I managed to get all the detail in the sky as well as the car.

Please don't imply that I am a liar.
