I have a rcz and going to work with out warning the car just cut out no bangs or knocks .called out AA they had look said the timing chain had snapped. It's a 2012 model. Can anyone tell me is it repairable or is it doomed.

It must have been clattering for a while if it's snapped the chain. That's if it is the chain.

I'll hazard a guess at that not being a cheap repair, as things that should not be touching will now probably be touching.
It will potentially need a new/2nd hand engine.

You've got to weigh up the cost and whether it is viable to repair. Or whether you would rather chuck it and get another.

Depending on how much force was on the chain at the point of breaking with luck it may have just wrecked the chain guides? I would suspect the top cylinder head chain guide has capitulated causing the chain to loose tension which is very common on all the Prince engines

I'm very unsure the engine is locked so I'm assuming it's caught the pistons with the valves. The engine was sweat as anything there was no indication of any noise before this happened.it just died when driving.car is beautiful and only 49tho on the clock

I hope you've been lucky and no serious damage has happened.
