Not yet, apparently Peugeot themselves wash their hands of any car, its down to the dealer to sort
So, they are dragging their heels cos its gonna cost them
I'm going to start pushing tomorrow as its taking a bit too long, however,,,, wait 2 weeks for a new REG might be wise :)

will let you know when I know more

Have they actually confirmed what the problem is with the car, is it gearbox or engine or a combination of the two.

I don't see how Peugeot can wash their hands of it, who's agreed to replace it the garage or Peugeot.

I think I would just be glad of a new car now instead of waiting, especially if the offer is on the table.

You need to push a little harder I think.

I forgot - gave the car a good wash yesterday, checked the doors - no runs but I can understand why it may happen, once I'd dried the car off there was a continual run coming from the wing mirror which eventually stopped, but this morning when I checked it there was a water mark which did come off.

I also found a dent in the door not sure when it was done, it certainly was not there last week, it's to high for a door knock it looks like someone pressed the door while looking in   :(

seen a huge box with my clutch and all ancillaries related to the clutch, the used all kind of instruments to find the noise, they think the flywheel is rubbing somehow but not sure, wont let me have the car back even if its not a safety problem as they want to find out whats wrong.

Will push more tomorrow

Sorry to hear about your dent. good news you have not water marks that wont go away though :)

You'll love this one.

Peugeot want more money to supply me a new car as "it will be a 60 plate and therefore worth more"

Wheres that number for BBC Watchdog ?

The cheek of it. Its not your fault that the car has a problem that Peugeot have not been able to resolve. Out of goodwill at the very least they should be bending over backwards to replace your car as quickly as possible for you - WITHOUT ANY COST TO YOU !

you really need to go into writting on this one, a trail of signed letters is better than half remembered conversations , write a formal letter to the manager stating either
1. that you reject the vehicle as not fit and that they have had ample opportunity to resolve the issues and you expect a full refund to be paid within 48hrs of reciept of the letter, quote the documents above kindly posted by "eyesu0"
2. or set a date that you expect them to have fully resolved the issues and returned the vehicle, i would even push for that you expect to be compensated for the time you have been unable to drive the vehicle you paid for i.e next service free, (good will gesture)

in both cases set timescales for written responses and to be fair, do spell out what you intend to do next if timescales are not met or a satisfactory conclusion is not achieved i.e seek legal advice, go to trading standards, the media

the leverage you have will be your consumer rights and media related i.e watch dog and what car, local press etc, remember this is a premium car for peugeot

if you are a member of any of the breakdown organisations, certainly the AA used to offer legal advice

alternatively you could turn up at the garage at peak time naked and painted bright red demanding to see the manager - think they may take notice then

on the subjeect of them wantiing more money, what do they think this is a part exchange ???? get your money back and then if you want, order another one

Almost forgot - keep copies of everything youe send/give them

hope its all gets sorted for you - VERY SOON

OK its not that easy as the car is bought on Peugeot Finance.

PF have now agreed to supply a new car. So today and not before (even though I've been pushing for this) they now start looking for a car to supply me.
(I guess they didnt wat to start looking until they had the OK to get one)

Fingers crossed there is one in the UK that fits my spec, should be easy as its STD GT in Black, no extras..

Will let you know when I know.

OK, looks like I'm joining most of you and picking up a Brand New 60 Reg car on 1st Sept :)

Now, who thinks I'm up for some form of compensation payout ?

I'm glad that this saga looks like its finally coming to an end - and with a positive outcome. I'd doubt very much if you'd get any compensation as, in theory, they've put everything right. (I could be wrong!)

Agreed hobbit, but I've paid for a car that I've not been driving, I've had to half fill with fuel a courtesy car every other day (I'm living at the fillign station), not knowing when its going back,
they now have it back as they have sold it and I'm in a Vauxhall (shudder) so, the cash I've paid out for and the inconveince of not having my own car, plus I've now missed the summer... it all adds up.

I think you should certainly ask for compensation, they can only say no!

Are you getting the same spec and colour RCZ you originally had?

yes exactly the same, they found on ein Poole, apparently Dealers are a bit difficult to let these go once they have them in their stock, but they pay interest after 3 months so why not let them go when there is a sale in the making.... boggle!
