Peugeot Extended Warranty

My HDi is coming up to 3 Years old as at 23 September 2013.

Got my Peugeot Extended Warranty Letter the other week.
Really easy to purchase on-line and the Warranty Document turned up the following week.

I've previously checked other Warranty Sites and the Peugeot Warranty is certainly cheaper.
I can't remember the exact price at the mo, although think it was circa £270.

Due to the age of the car, you get the Platinum Warranty (as opposed to the Gold for older cars).
You also get MOT Test Insurance up to a maximum value of £750.

Hopefully, won't have any need to use it over the year.
It's also transferable should I sell the car within the year.

Have you got more information on what is and what is not covered? I tend to be a sceptic about these things and tend to believe that any insurer with such a policy will decline all claims on the basis of wear and tear. However if there is such a product worth having then I too would be very tempted.

Section 4 - Details of Cover:

What your Peugeot Platinum Renewal Warranty covers:

The Peugeot Platinum Renewal Warranty is available on cars and commercial vehicles up to five years old and with less than 80,000 miles on the odometer at time of purchase.
It covers all components for mechanical and electrical failure with the EXCEPTION of the following items:

Excluded Items:

Ancillary drive belts, mountings, unions, pipes and hoses of any type

Brake and clutch frictional material

Bulbs, lamps, LED lighting and fuses

Exhaust systems and diesel particulate filters
(catalytic converters are covered against internal failure only and not accidental damage, corrosion or damage resulting from the use of incorrect fuel)

Batteries

Wiring and terminals

Telephones of all types

Wheels and tyres (including balancing and alignment)

Wiper Blades

Recharging of the air conditioning unit (unless required as part of a valid repair)

All serviceable items.

Trim and Bodywork.

Maximum Claim Limit:

The amount you may claim over the whole period of this Warranty is limited to the purchase price of your vehicle.

The above items are things that I would expect to pay for during routine Maintenance / Servicing.
Hope this helps others to make their mind up one way or the other.

Think I will do the same. Just did an online quote but the only option to do it online was for one less than 3 years old? Can you do this just before it turns 3 yrs old then and get that price? For over 3 yrs old it says phone up?
