Peugeot 307CC 2005 won't start

After having removed and tested all the fuses in both fuse boxes, my Peugeot 307CC 2005 won't start but the engine turns over.

If battery is OK & nothing else is showing any issues it could be the immobiliser/key fob battery?

The keyfob operates the door locks and flsahes a red LED when pressed. I've noticed that durng the attempt to reset the computer various things work and not work. The fuel guage reads empty even though there is 3/4 tank of fuel, thne other times it shows the right amount. The last time I tried the gauge showed the true amount, then I heard a relay click and the guage showed empty. The car didn't start, however, before or after the click.

Electrical issue would make relays click & sometimes it can be low voltage in the Battery can cause it or open circuits but was the car running normally before this fault ?

Before I discovered that a failure of the rear number plate light causes the rear lights on that same side to fail and I wound up testing all the fuses by removing them and testing them before returning them, the car started faultlessly. However I went through the required operations to reset the computer and found that all the functions seemed to work except the engine wouldn't start. I noticed that it seemed to be trying so I removed 2 of the plugs and dried the area around them and then tried to start the car again. Although it took a little wire to finally go it finally started and emmitted an incredibly thick cloud of exhaust smoke for a couple of minutes before returning to the usual clear exhaust again. I checked the oil level and that is fine and upond driving it seems to be fine now and started first time as it always has, However later the engine warning symbol illuminated and a message appeared on the computer saying that the anti-pollution wasn't working. I have a module plugged in the diagnostic socket which connects to a ZUS app. This has stated that P0170 fuel trim malfunction bank 1, also P0131 02 sensor circuit low voltage bank 1 and P0171 system to o lean bank1. These messages have nver appeared before. Any ideas what this means? Perhaps it will clear as the computer settles.

Why only 2 plugs & are those plugs at fault together coil pack but with bank1 is too lean it usually suggest too much air not enough fuel
Anti pollution could mean Oxygen sensors have detected combustion problems mixture too lean
Faults like this can be a vacuum- leak 02 sensors if it has a fuel filter that my be partially blocked ?
Fuel pump-fuel rail or pressure sensor or injectors- MAF sensor & the mileage or history if any its hard to determine what is failing but it appears to be fuel related

I'm not going to investigate any further for a while and give the computer and the whole system time to readjust after the complications of screwing up the computer by removing all the fuses. I have read that the computer analyses the drivers' mode of driving and controld the system accordingly, which takes a number of days. It may be that all will recover when this has ben done. If not then I'll persue this later, my car is now going and that is good. Remember that a failed number plate light will extinguish the corresponding side light.

I think they had the Multipoint indirect injection not a THP direct injection my missus had a similar or poss the same engine as the 307 2 ltr in the Ulysse there coded as EW RFN RFJ so might even be same set up
Your coil packs are probably in one complete bank & not separate as in the RCZ etc

The coil is in a single bar which spans the engine, seems a good idea. My engine is called EW10A (RFJ) which sound very similar to your missus. Works very well and quietly. Seems everything is ok except a potential warning situation of the anti-pollution codes which may be due to the mess up of the computer and resulting engine mismanagment. I'll give it some time.

Yep same as my missus old Fiat & that engine still ran perfect after 147.000Klms just changed the oil every 5000 Klm sadly it failed the Mot on inner sill rust & too many other faults were advisories so its gone to the big Fiat garage in the sky
As for the depollution fault might be the Upstream/downstream Oxygen sensors maybe picked up some crap when you got it started ?

If it doesn't clear by itself I'll chase it up. Sorry about your Fiat bereavement but it happens to the best of us.
