Petrol v Diesel

Having decided that the RCZ is more about the show than the go, I've started to consider the diesel models as well as the 200 Petrol. Just got a couple of questions

Is the diesel the same engine that I might find in my wife's 2.0HDi Citroen DS4?

Does the diesel GT get the same gearbox model as the petrol, and does it come with the smaller wheel and short throw shifter?

If the DS4 is the 2 0 Hdi 160 Dsport , I'm pretty sure it's the same engine because it's also PSA and has the same output.
Obviously it has a different transmission as the petrol because the diesel makes less revs. It has very good acceleration in third and fourth gear making it the perfect car for overtaking.
Mine (2010) has the larger steering wheel and normal length shift lever.
I believe the small wheel and short shift are part of the sport package, but I don't know whether that was available as option on the HDi.

have you test driven the diesel yet? It's a 2.0 HDi FAP engine so I'm not sure it's entirely similar to the DS4 but it's probably very similar.

All of the 2.0 HDI engines (DW10 model name) use the same basic block and head. Most likely the differences between the "standard" 136 bhp and the 163 bhp in the RCZ is a bigger turbo and a simple remap, so it's essentially the same engine.

According to Wikipedia the only 2.0L diesel for the DS4 is the 163 bhp one, so it's exactly the same as in the RCZ :)

The smaller wheel and short throw shifter is an option (Sport Package) like frankvdb said.
