Hi,

In the last week I've had a "P2263 - Boost Pressure" error code and into limp mode. Local village garage (great reputation and done all work on my car so far including timing chain and HPFP) diagnosed as collapsing pipe connected to turbo and asked Pug for a new pipe. Pug instead sent something that seemed to be just a structural cover to go over the existing pipe and apparently also said it would need a remap as well to fully resolve the issue. I call Pug (Marshall Cambridge) and they didn't seem to know anything about the remap. Local garage can't do the remap so it's off to Pug in the morning for 'diagnostics' first for about £120. I'm hoping they don't just tell me what the local garage already has - don't see the point of paying for that! We'll see.

Anyone got any insight on this?

No ideas about your error code, but £120 is very steep for diagnostics. I recently had mine in to the local dealership and had to agree to pay the diagnostic fee if the repair wasn’t covered by my extended warranty, and I didn’t have the work done by them. They said they had recently put their fee up from £50 to £60.

Fortunately my extended warranty did cover the repairs so no charge to me.

Which dealer was that? They're basically saying up to an hours diagnostics and that's their hourly rate.

That was Evans Halshaw Peugeot Wakefield West Yorkshire.

I thought that all Pug dealers charged the same diagnostic fee.

They've come back with it being a fault Cam Intake Phaser - anyone had this? I'm still sitting in the dealers waiting for a further update on parts/costs/labour etc.

Yes, have heard of this. Sometimes linked to timing chain issues. Are they sure it’s not that instead/as well?

Latest on this.

It went to Marshall Peugeot Cambridge this morning for the fix to be done - Solenoid Valve replaced. (We won't mention the fact it actually went in on Friday but they'd got the wrong part). It lasted 6 (yes, six!) miles before the engine management light came back on after driving away today.

Called the AA out this evening to get the codes off the system - exactly the same ones as before the fix. A smashing £141.59 spent this morning to fix... nothing...

Marshall Peugeot Cambridge are calling me back in the morning to discuss.

I'm well chuffed with this car in the last month! Over £2k spent and still not right. Timing chain kit - done. High pressure fuel pump - done. Oil pressure relief valve - done. Sworn a lot - done.

The two codes on at present are:

P000A - Inlet Camshaft Dephaser
P2263 - Turbocharging air circuit fault

More to follow...

Next follow up. It went back in to Marshall Cambridge today to have a sensor replaced after I was told it could have been two parts that cause this problem and they tried one first yesterday (Solenoid valve) but ordered this sensor as well apparently just in case. 4 miles after driving it away from the dealer today, engine management light back on again.

I now just want rid of this car.

Will call the dealer again in the morning.

Sounds like part changers to me just stabbing in the dark till they get the right one at vast expense to yourself I’m afraid
Surely they must put this right as you’ve paid for two parts fitting and that obviously wasn’t the issue! You could always get a second opinion if so look for a Peugeot specialist.
After spending all that dosh I hope you get it sorted and then can enjoy your beautiful car

That sounds a bit steep to me my Peugeot dealer said the HP fuel pump should take no more than an hour to replace, that makes it one expensive part! You can purchase a original pump for £350 on line. :eusa-think:

Re: P2263 Boost Pressure code - off to Peugeot in the mornin

I recently had the HPFP changed late December which got rid of a different error code but yes will cause the same problem - light on, no power. I also had little change out of £800 and that wasn't from main dealer - luckily I have a 3rd party warranty which covered most of it.

Off now to pick the car up again after it's had the VVT solenoid valve changed as well and they've been out in it for the last couple of days with no light on. Fingers crossed! They've not been charging me for the further part changes so that's good - only the first one.

Hi Trembler.
I have the same 2 error codes on my thp rcz. What eventually solved your problem with these 2 codes?

james.
