This is way off any RCZ chat, but thought i would ask anyway :helpme:

I took a lovely roundhouse kick to my right ear from my sparring partner in training 2 weeks ago, the last few days i cant hear too well and it sounds like when you were a kid and put a shell to your ear, you know, that wooshy wishy sort of sound, it's driving me nuts

Went to docs this morning, she cant see any damage but suggested a "good old Syringeing" her words not mine :(
So i'm booked in for friday

Has anyone had this done ? i dont like the sound of it (excuse the pun) , there are 3 places i object to being poked into, eyes, ears, and arse
NOT that anything has travelled into my 3rd objection, let me make that fully clear.

I think i would rather the "sound of the ocean" and a good old thump instead

Hi Jactac

I used to have my ears syringed a lot when I was a wee bit younger. I produce too much wax in my ears, even though I do clean them out twice a day, every day (honestly I do :wtf: ). It meant that every 6 months or so I had to go to my GP to have them done. Its nothing to worry about and it doesn't hurt (if done correctly). You just get a warm, wooshy noise in your ear and at the end you hear better than you did before. You can literally hear a pin drop from 50 metres

I last had them syringed about 12 years ago. They went "funny" when I was on holiday in Turkey and my husband, who happened to have a syringe on him  (he works in the NHS) syringed them out for me and touch wood, I've never had my ears go funny since and or had to have them syringed. He did a really good job

Ok thanks, it's just the thought of it
I've never suffered with my ears, not even a bit of ear ache, but this latest knock has done something

I'm getting too old for all the youngsters, jumping about like bloody Bruce Lee who all want to kick and punch the oldman, it's starts to hurt after a while

Think i will just stick to washing and polishing the car.

Shotokan karate In the main m8, but there are are few clubs in Swansea and the surroundings that have their own sort of fetch and training styles.

I first got into it in my teens, but then found beer and women so it sort of went to the back burner until my 20's then slowly got back into it for a few years then my working hours were a bit of a problem, but i've got back into it again over the last 10 years or so and i try to go as often as poss now, but to be honest my healing times are not what they used to be. Age does not come alone my good fella. :(
