Hi All

I'm so pleased that someone has finally created a RCZ forum - its been a long time coming ;)

Well here is my story.
First saw a photo of the RCZ back in August 2009 and immediately thought "that looks nice". When I saw how much it was going to cost I thought "that's bloody fantastic" ! I couldn't believe that it could possibly be within my price range. Its looks far more expensive and even more so when you see it in the flesh, I think. So from that day on, I new my next car was going to be the RCZ.

After reading loads of stuff on the internet I could wait no more and decided in February 2010 that I was going to order one. Not having seen one in the flesh, not driving one, nothing. There was no other car around that was even coming close to grabbing me.

So I ordered the RCZ Sport 156 with smoked chrome arches in pearlescent white and at the time "terrific" alloys (alas these will not be available for the time being) so I have gone for the standard 18" alloys. I really would have liked leather seats but unfortunately you cannot order just the leather seats on their own - supposedly to make things simpler for Peugeot. I did not want all the other bells and whistles that comes with the GT version so that's that. Although I may get them re-trimmed in leather at a later stage. Delivery date was given as July 2010. 5 whole months to wait

I'm going into the dealership today as I've noticed on the Peugeot website that the smoked chrome arches may induce a delay so I need to know if this is going to badly affect my waiting time. I know that the aluminium arches were orginally make by a german company but they went into administration earlier on in the year so now a British company is making them - which may explain the delay but I don't know why its just affecting the smoked chrome ones.

I'm really jealous of everyone on here who has got theirs so far - I'm sure you are enjoying the experience. :)

Welcome and thanks for joining. The Pearl white RCZ looks great!

Thanks for the info on the arches. Do you have a link to the details on the delay?

Well visited the dealers today and I was told that there was going to be no delay with my order. The car is due week 30 - last week in July.

Great news - not much longer to go now.

When I went to the dealers they have two in the showroom - one for test drives the other I suppose for anyone to take away next week if they wanted.
The demo one is in Amber Red - its a different sort of red, more sort of orange but I quite like it. Not quite as nice as the Pearl White.

I ordered a Pearl White Diesel RCZ in May, after 2 months,I was told that the smoked chrome arches were not available and I would have to settle for the standard aluminium ones.
I was quoted 3 months delivery time, making it mid August delivery, I have now just been told October !!!.
Obviously disappointed to be delayed in owning this fantastic car.

Hi David

I think due to the problems with the smoked chrome arches, everybody who ordered these kept having their orders put back as Peugeot was trying to resolve the problem with them. Ultimately they could not ,therefore all the orders for white now have a backlog.

It will be worth the wait in the end
