Wish I was in Saudi, Rob. You should be UP NORTH !

Been down to -14 around here in the last few days. -10 going to work this morning at 8am. -7 coming home tonight at 6pm. Daytime temperature -3.

The heavy snowfall we've been experiencing for the last 13 days (I've never seen snow so deep in all of my 4. years), has seen guttering brought down by the weight of the snow and ice sliding off house roofs, conservatory roofs caving in under the weight of snow and ice, a tomato growers literally 50 yards from my house has seen their fields and fields of greenhouses collapse under the weight of all the snow and ice that has accumulated over the last 13 days.

Spent the entire weekend with hubby and the lovely couple next door, clearing snow from all our elderly neighbours drives. We all have very long drives, so its been, back braking work. Every inch of my body is aching. Been getting supplies in for them too so at least the community spirit is shining through round these parts.

Temperatures not due to get any better, so no thawing taking place. Everyone is fed up of it now......

The vaseline - petroleum Jelly - really works. Woke up this am to -14degrees. Unblocked the car - no problem.
Best to smear around the rubber seals thinly.
But does work!!!!!

We had rain yesterday which froze solid overnight - opening the doors was ok (altho I heard the ice crack as I opened the doors and the windows dropped half an inch).

I had that. Have to say, not the most pleasing sound to hear coming from a brand new car.

i have been using a rain repellent like (rain x / rain racer and others) on the windows and screen for years it help by filling the microscopic holes in the glass so that water beads off in the rain this has helped them from not frosting up to much just have to wipe over with a microfiber cloth and it comes of and wipe around the lower rubber seals of the windows door seems to open ok and windows drop down have not had any issues so far and it was -9 this week you can also get this formula as a additive to your screen wash so when you wash screen it applys it at the same time hope this helps.
