Catherine,

As you will probably know, you get quite a lot as standard with the R. Equally, there are a couple of things in my GT 200 that I'm going to lose.

I won't bore you with the standard specs. - you can get those from the Peugeot web site.

The additional 0ptions I selected were:
1) JBL hi-fi
2) Front parking sensors
3) Black mirror caps

I did think about a 'carbon' roof but decided against it. It would be 'fake', i.e. not real carbon fibre so I would feel a bit of a poseur, even though it means I've got to put effort into keeping the seemingly soft black paint on the roof clean and shiny! (Not disparaging anyone else that has personalised their car in this way or other 'wrap' type mods - it's just not for me).

Other than that, there aren't too many option boxes to tick.

Out of interest, the things I'm losing are:

1) Electric seats
2) Heated seats
3) Door mirrors that can dip upon selection of reverse gear

Now, lack of electric seats I can understand on weight saving grounds - same too possibly for the heated seats. However, the lack of dipping door mirrors was a bit of a disappointment, especially with the special to type R wheels. I guess I'll have to be extra careful!

Good choice on the front parking sensors and I know what you mean about the lack of dipping mirrors.

I'd nor realised the R had a chromed front grill, need to study them more closely.

That looks amazing Pete, what a weapon , its a bit of a bummer losing the electric seats but to be honest how often do we really adjust them once we've found our optimum position? I'm the only one that drives my car and I can't remember the last time I touched that switch lol. You'll just have to manually dip them mirrors to look after them gorgeous wheels mate, or I'll swap u my shabby ones if u like so u don't have to worry ;)

I've never had electric seats in either of my Z's and to be honest, I wouldn't really thank you for them.
You won't even notice or miss them after a while.

Bet you can't wait to get behind the wheel of the R. Enjoy it Pete

Regarding heated seats, my present 'z has lama leather seats that can, in the winter, seem pretty cold. So, the heated seats were used - although the OH is more dis-chuffed about losing them than I am.

When I test drove the R I was disappointed to find no electric seats my OH drives mine so we have programmed the memory to his seating position without it interfering with my position, as for the heated seats my OH loves them in the winter, & I wouldn't be without the mirrors dipping

Jammy sod... Looks great!

Well, obviously, it's not cheap - it just had to be done.

I am at the end of three years with my existing GT 200, so something had to happen &, since my current car - although reliable - has been in the wars somewhat, a change was definitely in the offing. Since you never trade down (if you can avoid it!), the R was the way to go for me.

It's great - taught, rorty & loads of poke.

Just got back from a celebratory champagne early evening meal with my beloved (The Wicked Lady, Wheathampsted)

Done 20 miles so far and couldn't be happier.

Contrary to expectations expressed in some reviews I've read, the uprated suspension seems loads better than the GT200. Whether this is really true or just because it's brand new, I don't yet know. Also, the different tyres might be playing a part. Interestingly, I've noticed the Goodyear tyres used on the R are run at different pressures to the GT200, even though they're the same size - 235/40ZR19 (92Y). Pressures a 2.3 bar front, 2.1 bar rear - lightly laden.

Another upside is the Apple connectivity seems better - navigation around iPods is much improved on the RT6 radio/sat nav/media machine & I've already paired my phone via Bluetooth.

One thing that's confusing me on the RT6 is that the handbook describes some DAB functions, which would be nice. However, I can't find any sign of them on the menus, nor is there anything about it being 'subject to specification'? Guess I'll have to read the handbook properly in bed tonight - lol.

Hopefully, some piccies tomorrow, weather permitting!
