One rather puzzled New Owner

Evening all :thumbup: Finally took delivery of my lovely new Z GT last week

It was basically a new Car with 5 Miles on the clock which had been pre registered (April last year) sitting there in the Peugeot showroom looking pretty till I decided to give it a good Home

I have only done around 280 enjoyable miles thus far, and today when the ignition was switched on for the first time it came up with "Service Due in 1800 miles" :shock: :eusa-think:

So my question is would this messsage be tripped by months ? and what is that Eco Mode about :crazy: Came on in 3 or 4 minutes as I was trying to sort out my Music choice before starting the Engine

So, the service schedule is based on time or mileage, whichever happens soonest. If the car was registered, I assume the service schedule "timer" Was instigated, so it will presumably be due its first service a year after it was registered.

As for the eco mode, no way round that one I'm afraid, the car has a self preservation mode, which shuts just about everything down to ensure that the battery doesn't flatten itself on insignificant things like music etc.

I'm not sure if it's a set time, or a battery charge level, but either way, there is only one way round it, keep the engine running.

As regards keeping the engine running!? No problem with that as I am looking for excuses to get behind the wheel :eusa-whistle: have had some cool Cars in the past but nothing that holds the bends and puts a smile on my face like this :dance:

Just one other thing I was a tad concerned about......

Do any of you Guys have any problems getting in the Z in frosty Weather with the door window freezing? Know in the past on previous Cars could just give a good yank on door but with the window having to drop prior to entry on the RCZ just wondered :eusa-think:

Guess just a case of de-icer :thumbup:

You can lubricate the seal to stop it sticking.
Vasoline is the one I use on Peugeot 1007 (the one with the sliding doors). Has not stuck in winter yet!

You watch sods law will now activate!

Ummm Okay thanks, but which seal :eusa-think:

The one running along bottom of window or the rubber seal on inside of the door? Was rather thinking of the Window dropping mechanism before entry being a poss issue in hard frosts..... I live up North you know :lol:

The seal around the door aperture, if there is a frost, you can always scrape the bottom edge of the window so it can drop before trying to open the door.

I use a product called Gummi Pflege Stift. It is brilliant on the rubber seals, keeps them supple & stops them sticking in freezing conditions.

Silicone grease or spray is an excellent product for keeping rubbers seals supple/protected. Learnt that from my wife owning a Tigra B in the past. Will use some on the RCZ seals shortly. Think last time I bought a tube off ebay for around a fiver, stealers wanted £27 for a tube. Still have loads left.
