Hi everyone girlfriend has a rcz had the timing chain done about year ago then six months later had to go back as tensioner was loose now it’s using loads of oil and says stop immediately as soon as u drive it
Garage says no oil is getting to top of engine and can’t diagnose what’s wrong they say if they change the oil pump it won’t guarantee it will fix the engine any ideas please

The stop warning is because the oil pressure switch is registering low pressure (danger level) did the garage say anything about the PCV diaphragm/valve sticking or stuck open which is a generic fault on the Prince engines & can cause heavy oil consumption if they don't suspect the pump
Do you notice any signs of oil around the rocker cover or hoses ?

Do you have oil leaking on the floor on your drive? The tensioner is a mother to tighten up properly have they done a proper job tightening it up? If not the tensioner hole will throw oil all down the back of your engine and you be topping it up a lot.
