Hi all
Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to change the engine oil using an electric pump through the dipstick tube on my Peugeot RCZ GT THP 156 petrol.only I have a couple of seized sump guard bolts and so can’t remove the sump guard without cutting it off. and so thought this would be a more practical method especially as the car is so low and awkward to jack up. also I am loath to take it to a garage as I’m very worried about them destroying the jacking points as mine at the moment are all in perfect condition.

If your handy with tools buy a set of Sealey left handed drills
Douse the screws with WD40 leave them soak 10-15 mins
Place tip of drill in head of screw & apply light pressure & start the drill off
They should come out as the upper threads have been covered up by the tray
If I can do it anyone can as People on here reckon I need the internet to fix anything! 🤣

Hi there thanks for the reply, I can’t remove the bolt at the front where it passes through the sump tray but also through the front bumper under tray, I think there a captive nut insert above in the front cross member which is just spinning round and I can’t get anything on it to stop it turning.I’ll probably have to cut the plastic around it I’m sure the remaining bolts should hold it on,but it made me think about using an electric pump to suck out the oil through the dipstick which would solve the problem of messing about with the undertray.

I personally would not do an extraction/oil change with a pump espeically on a THP where decent regularly changed oil is an absolute necessity, I would go with Plasma and get the sump guard off.

Hi all thanks for all help I’ll take your advice remove the sump guard somehow And drain the oil properly, but I do like marmites idea about cutting a hole In the sump guard just under the sump plug. Also Can anyone suggest a good brand of oil and should it take 5w-30 or 0w-30 Looking back over its service history it has had both grades in it before It is an RCZ GT THP 156 With 27,000 miles on the clock.
